She had been left outside forseveral months with little food and water and is severelyemaciated (The shelter is pursuing criminal chargesagainst her former owner). Weighing fifty pounds, sheshould weigh at least seventy. She is quiet and, evenafter being so sadly mistreated, trusting; she needssomeone to show her the affection she has beenmissing. Weighingfifty-five pounds, this high-energy, playful boy is aspectacularly strong and beautiful dog who needstraining to give him purpose and focus. Affectionate withpeople, he would be best as an only dog. The Baldwin Park shelter officer whofound him took him to the El Monte Dog & Cat Hospitalwhere an amazing veterinarian thought this dog was sowonderful that he inserted a steel plate into Blackie’s leg,and neutered him and only charged us 50.00! Blackiehas made a full recovery and is now ready for adoption.Weighing forty pounds, Blackie is a high energy boy whowalks well on leash. Celeste is initially reserved,but once she gets to know you she becomes quiteloving.
