Enrollment is co-ed and is open to students entering 7th through 12th grades (exceptions are noted). Students from other high schools should verify the transfer credit guidelines with their guidance counselors PRIORto enrolling in a course at St. Francis High School. Students from other high schools must provide a signature from their school administration verifying they are ingood standing with their school. Each class requires a minimum enrollment of 12 students. Students may enroll in up to four (4) courses. Enrollment is on a first-come, first-serve basis.PAYMENTS Payment in full is due at the time of registration. A 75.00 late fee will be assessed on applications received after June 6. Registration for all Camps is SEPARATE. Please write SEPARATE checks for any of the Camps.Designate “Basketball”, “Fr. Football”, “JV Football”, “Varsity Football”, “ Lacrosse “, “Soccer”, orVolleyball”, Camp.REFUNDS If a student withdraws within 7 days prior to class starting, written notification from the parent is required andonly a 50% refund will be given. No refunds will be given after the first week of classes. A full refund of tuition will be given for any class that is canceled due to insufficient enrollment.HOW TO REGISTER Online Registration begins March 15, 2022.Go to www.sfhs.net/academics/summerschool Students will not be registered until all forms have been COMPLETED and fees have been paid. SUMMER SCHOOL POLICIESATTENDANCE Students are expected to attend every class. Students who miss more than five (5) hours of instruction may not receive credit. Petitions for students to missmore than 5 hours must be filed with the Summer Session Director no later than June 15. A parent must report an absence as early as possible each day by calling(818) 790-0325. A student must bring a note on the day he/she returns. Excessive absences or failure to clear an absence may result in dismissal with no refund. St. Francis maintains a closed campus. Students may not leave campus between classes.DRESS CODE Dress is casual in summer. Students may wear shorts, casual pants and t-shirts. Cut-off shorts or shirts, tank tops, inappropriate t-shirt insignia, thongs/sandals, gang-style or sloppy clothing areNOT acceptable. A student’s mid-section MUST be covered. Final decisions regarding attire rest with the Director.More specific information will be sent with your schedule.FOOD/BEVERAGES Food and drinks will be available from the cafeteria.REPORT CARDS / GRADE REPORTS Mid-session reports will be emailed home on July 6. Final grades will be mailed July 29 to other schools for students in the High School program who regularly attendother schools. * Junior High School grades will not be forwarded to schools unless a specific, written request is made.*There is a 5.00 fee for all transcript requests after August 1, 2022.ADMISSION AFTER SUMMER SCHOOL Any student whose admission or readmission to St. Francis depends upon his performance will be notified after thesession ends.St. Francis Summer Session policies will be emailed in a letter to parents in the June 14th.

This course is designed to give students hands-on experience in the science labsolving realistic crime scene scenarios using actual forensic techniques. Activities will include forensic photography,glass fragment analysis, analyses of blood and skeletal remains, identifying trace substances, developing latentfingerprints, identifying forgeries, forensic entomology, DNA fingerprinting, and ballistics. The course will culminatein a “Who done it” mock trial using student analyses of evidence gathered from a simulated crime scene.Periods 1 or 2Tuition: 3503D MODELING AND PRINTING#T2Students will learn how to 3D model with TinkerCAD and a web-based version of the industry standard AutoDeckCAD software. Students will learn how to operate the 3D slicer software CURA to prepare 3D models forprinting. Using a Monoprice Maker FDM 3D printer, students will complete the product design process byprototyping their own designs.Period 3Tuition: 350GRAPHIC DESIGNSStudents will learn how to use the Adobe Creative Suite to explore different aspects of graphic design. From editingand color correcting photos, designing logos with vector graphics and typography, to creating posters and albumcovers, this course will introduce the technology to get your creative juices flowing.Period 4Tuition: 350

MYTHBUSTERS#T7Modeled after the popular television series, students will tackle some of the most common urban legends and bustup some of nature's biggest myths. At the end of each exciting day, tools and technology will be used to decidewhat is fact or fiction!Period 3 or 4Tuition: 350VIDEO PRODUCTION WORKSHOP FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL ONLY (Beginner)The students will learn how to use picture montages using stock footage, basic photography, and live action videography.They will learn how to edit or put the shots together, hands-on. STIMULATING MIND & BODY THROUGH E SPORTS#F10E Sports is undeniably popular as a digital platform for interaction and entertainment that encourages communicationand coordination amongst student athletes. By playing games, students are able to deepen their levels of interactionand communicate more effectively, readying them for later life. Students will play a variation of games throughoutthe class, both individual and team games that develop teamwork, strategy and communication. Each class will alsoengage in physical activity for 60 minutes each week to keep students active throughout the class. All students willbe required to bring an iPad (generation 6 or better) with ability to download Apps through the Apple App Store. Noadditional purchases that involve costs will be necessary for games/class. This course will provide students with an appreciation for the visualarts by providing them with an overview of art history, an understanding of a variety of artistic mediums, opportunities tovisit Art Museums, listen to professional artists, guest speakers, and the study of film as artistic expression. We will discuss how to utilizeresources such as Naviance, College Board, the Fiske Guide, etc. Students will spend time on various types ofcollege applications (UC/CSU and Common Application) and discuss the different types of application deadlines(EA/ED/Priority/ Regular). They will begin their personal statement/insight questions, participate in mockinterviews, and hear from guest speakers. They will learn about various types of financial aid and the process ofapplying for financial aid. This course is intended to enrich the student’sunderstanding of the evolution of public health-related ideas, health institutions, and health practices.UC AcceptedPeriodTuition: 350MEDICAL ETHICS (ONLINE)Examines the essentials of pertinent laws and the ethical demands of healthcare professions. As a health careprofessional, it is important to understand the legal and ethical issues that can impact the role one has in the healthcare setting. This course introduces the laws that regulate the health care industry such as HIPAA, the Patient's Billof Rights, and the standard of care. In addition to the legal aspects, this course presents information on ethical andmoral issues that health care professionals may encounter and encourages the student to consider the impact thatpersonal ethics and morals have on decision making. The fourweeklong camp will be hosted by the St. Francis Coaching Staff to provide a fun filled camp each day for 4th - 9thgraders.
