Collaborative of St. Francis of Assisi Parish & St. Joseph Parish, Medford, MAPage 3Disciples in MissionWelcome to New ParishionersNo matter what your present statusin the Catholic Church,No matter what your current familyor marital situation,No matter what your current personalhistory, age, background, race, etc.,No matter what your own self-image; youare invited, welcomed, accepted, lovedand respected here atThe Collaborative of Saint Francis of Assisi Parishand Saint Joseph Parish. If you are new to the parish, please introduce yourself to a member of theParish Staff after Mass or at your convenience.Sacrament of MatrimonyIn our first reading, we hear more about thegrowing pains of the early Church. TheApostles were doing something that had neverbeen before, building a community of believersin Jesus Christ, Son of God. There werebound to be misunderstandings anddifferences of opinion. Even today, as theChurch of Boston focuses on strengtheningevangelization efforts and spreading the GoodNews of Jesus Christ people are hesitant to puttheir faith into action. Jesus’ words in today’sGospel sustained the early Church, and theymust sustain us also: “Do not let your heartsbe troubled or afraid.” Rely on the Holy Spirit– the Advocate – who is still with us.Couples should make arrangements with one of ourpriests or deacon at least six months before thewedding.Pastoral Care of the Sick and ElderlyPlease contact the Parish Center Office to makearrangements, if you are going into the hospital, orhave a family member who is homebound and wouldlike to receive the Sacrament of the Sick.If a family member cannot come to church andwould like to receive Communion at home, please notify us.Remembering Our ParishesPlease consider remembering St. Francis of AssisiParish, St. Joseph Parish or St. Joseph School whendrafting your estate plans. For more information, please callLaura Powers at 781-396-0423 Ext 113.
