CORPORATE HIGHLIGHTSIn line with its strategic objective of becominga strong regional player, UTI has continued todevelop it portfolio of international projects:UTI completed the implementation of acomplex traffic management system inSzczecin, Poland.The system allows real time information of thedrivers with regard to the traffic situation, thetravel times, status of the road infrastructureand the detour routes in case some unpredictedsituations occur, in order to reduce the waitingtimes and to increase the speed. All subsystemsare interconnected at central level within aTraffic Management Center.The second traffic management project inPoland was implemented by UTI ITS BusinessLine for the Municipality of Kalisz, animportant regional industrial and commercialcenter.4The system integrates several subsystems toprovide smooth traffic, while being connectedcentrally within the Traffic Management Center.The system is open and fully scalable and allowsthe addition of new systems or functionalitieswithin the current system.Also in line with our strategy to becomean important regional player, UTI providesmaintenance services for a complex trafficmanagement system implemented in Sofia,Bulgaria.In September 2014, certSIGN signed a contractto customize the driver’s licenses in Cyprus,thus entering a new market and extending itsservice portfolio. The licenses fully observe thestipulation of the 2006/126/CE European Directiveand include information on the professionalqualification certificate, in compliance with2003/59/EC European Directive.In March, 2015 UTI has started theimplementation of the integrated IT publictransport management, ticketing, passengerinformation and video surveillance systemin Burgas, Bulgaria. The completion of theproject, awarded by public tender, is estimatedfor the spring of 2016. The main aim of theproject is to optimize and streamline the publictransport conditions, as well as to increasepassenger comfort and safety.

UTI has strengthened its position on the environmentalengineering market. The most important project has beenthe successful modernization and extension works of theWater Treatment Plant in Cluj Napoca.Since September 2014, UTI has been building three watertreatment plants in Mehedinti county.UTI has previous experience in such projects, havingrehabilitated the water treatment plants in Scornicesti,Potcoava, Draganesti Olt and Piatra Olt.Since July 2014, UTI provides technical administrationand maintenance services for National Arena, thelargest and the most modern sports and entertainmentarena in Romania.The challenge of the project was to make sure that thegrass turf complies with the requirements. Therefore, amodern system of turf aeration, fertilization and activedrainage, as well as an artificial sunning system wereimplemented to meet these requirements.5

certSIGN launched Trust4Mobile, the first Romanianapplication that encrypts voice calls and VoIPmessages exchanged via Android mobile devices.Trust4Mobile uses the digital certificates issued bycertSIGN, as well as advanced encryption mechanisms.The application has been included among the standardapplications available on Samsung Galaxy Note 4.certSAFE and shellSAFE, PKI–based information securitysolutions, developed by certSIGN have been introducedin NATO Information Assurance Product Catalogue.The solutions will be used to process NATO-classifiedinformation up to the NATO RESTRICTED level.UTI completed the implementation of the integratedinformation system for the Electronic Medical Records.The system collects all relevant medical information fromvarious sources and integrates it, thus providing a securedand real-time medical database and ensuring the efficiencyand improved quality of the medical services.In May 2014, the project was awarded the title of eHealthProject of the Year by the HL7 Romania Association, inrecognition of its technological value and major socialimpact.Through a strategic acquisition of EguildE, a companyspecialized in developing GIS solutions, UTI acquired newcompetencies, being able to provide the complete rangeof GIS Solutions (urbanism plans, GIS databases, propertycadastre, green area registry, agricultural registry, taxesand contributions, IT solutions for utility companies,emergency situation solutions).UTI is part of the consortium that develops the WATMANproject – The Information System for the IntegratedWater Management, whose purpose is to establish a basisof adequate structures to prevent floods and to limit theirdestructive consequences.UTI will develop and implement the National AgriculturalRegister, a national digital system meant to collect, reportand analyze the data associated to the agricultural field.6

Iasi has become an important landmarkon the map of UTI projects:CORPORATE HIGHLIGHTS In August 2014, UTI finalized theairport lighting system on the newrunway of Iasi Airport. The runwaylighting system and its pertaininginstallations are in compliance with theICAO standards, allowing a 350-metervisibility under tough weather condition,the take-off and landing operationsbeing performed under complete safetyconditions.In 2014, UTI consolidated its position of national leader on theIntelligent Transportation Solutions market by starting severalprojects in important cities of Romania.Thus, UTI provides traffic management and urbaninformation solutions for 5 road passages in Bucharest. Thepurpose of the system is to keep the drivers informed withrespect to the traffic conditions (road conditions, accidents/traffic jams, weather conditions, etc). In August 2013, the UTI ITS & Ticketingbusiness line was awarded the contractfor the implementation of a complextraffic management project, whosepurpose is to modernize the publictransportation infrastructure, easethe traffic, increase safety and reducepollution.UTI and Altimate have implemented theelectronic system for the payment ofthe Fetesti-Cernavoda Danube bridgefee on the Bucharest-Constanta highwaythat replaces the barrier stop system.The drivers have the opportunity toopt for the payment of the fee outsidethe taxation station, in advance or by00:00 of the following day, by SMS sentto a short number and by paying thefee in the CNADNR authorized partners’network. The solution will be furtherdeveloped in order to allow payment bycard, subsequent to the configurationof an account into a web portal, andthrough the use of a mobile app.7The project will support Bucharest in becoming a smart city.UTI’s solutions have a decisive contribution to transformingregular cities into smart cities and to increasing the citizen’squality of life.Also under the Smart City concept, UTI solutions enable thecitizens of Brasov to travel smart.Thus, since December 2014, UTI has started to implement asolution to digitally manage the public transportation inBrasov. UTI’s solution will improve the public transportationand road flow and will increase the passengers’ safety andcomfort.Altimate is a UTI company, founded in 2014. Its strategicfoundation is meant to consolidate UTI’s position on the IT&Cmarket, by completing the competencies UTI already has.Altimate provides integrated information managementsolutions and end-to-end solutions for specific business needs,such as: Enterprise Resource Planning, Enterprise BusinessServices, Supply Chain Management, Customer RelationshipManagement and Business Intelligence.
