Arlington, Presiden Nedderman welcomed the members of the Board of Regents to UTA. Hesaid that since the Regents "-had toured the physical plant ,rand been informedabout the bricks and mortar that morning, i e would limit his presentationto the programs and people at U. T. Arlington. Followihg a short historical review of the institution and all the name changes from its beginning in1895 as Arlington College through its "last change" in 1967 to The University of Texas at Arlington, President Nedderman with accomNmwing slidesbriefly outlined the programs and the people involved with the various unitsat UTA. These units are" (I) College of Business Administration; (2) College of Liberal Arts; (3) College of Science; (4) College of Engineering,(5) Institute of Urban Stndies; (6) School of Architecture and Environmental Design; (7) School of Nursing; (8) Graduate School of Social Work;(9) Center for ProfessionM Teacher Education; and (10) Graduate School.In his presentation, President Nedderman emphasized the rapicl growthand development at U. T. Arlington. He said [hal with such growth anddevelopment there were ahvays problems. Among the chief problemsat UTA was the need for funding: fundingfor construction of moreacademic space (pressure points Fine Arts and Engineering), additionalon-campus housing, m d the depression of Cooper Street with the construction of a broad walkway over the street.
