DAKOTA NURSING PROGRAM (PN Certificate)Bismarck State College, Lake Region State College,Dakota College at Bottineau, Williston State College, andFort Berthold Community CollegeSummary of Faculty/Student RatioThe program reported clinical faculty/student ratios of 1:8 or less for beginning students involved in directclient care. The majority offer 1:1-1:6 ratios in clinical settings. The program reported that preceptors are notused in the DNP PN program.Summary of Major Practice FacilitiesThe Dakota Nursing PN Program listed clinical facilities utilized by each institution and representative ofeach geographical location. The clinical agencies/entities represented acute care, long-term care, and clinicfacilities; providing evidence of student opportunity for client care across the lifespan.Faculty Development ProgramReflective of all DNP programs and sites, FY 2014-15 routine submissions of academically unqualifiedfaculty employed demonstrated academic progression. Program reported one December 2015 graduate.Two faculty are expected to graduate in 2016 (February and May) and four faculty are expected to graduatein May 2017. Clinical policies (pp. 89-105) includedimmunization, health policies, liability insurance coverage, and BLS/CPR requirements. Each college catalog addressed the information related to campus offerings such as admissionsand library resources.Budget StatementBudgets are prepared by the separate campuses and reflect the combined figures for the respective PN &ADN programs. The programs each report that evaluation is a continuous, data driven and evidence-based processfor their programs. DICKINSON STATE UNIVERSITY (AASPN)Summary of Faculty/Student RatioThe program reported a campus laboratory ratio of 3:40. The faculty/student ratios at clinical agenciesranged from 1:1 to 1:7. In cases of precepted experiences, a ratio of 1:1 was maintained.Summary of Major Practice FacilitiesThe program reported use of facilities within the Dickinson area for acute and long-term care and at the NDState Hospital for psych/mental health clinical experiences.
