In Traditional Camp, campers enjoy all of the bestthat camp has to offer; everything from arts & crafts to wellness &exercise (don’t worry—it’s disguised as active group games!),and don’t forget about science experiments, possible cookingprojects or field trips, swimming and much more. Traditional Campactivities follow a central theme that changes each session so eachtime a camper comes in they are learning and experiencing new things.If you’re looking for a fun, well-rounded experience for your camper,Traditional Camp is the one for you!SPECIALTY CAMPS (ALL BRANCHES)Campers develop a greater passion for the things they love or try outsomething new! We have something to keep them smiling all week long.At each YMCA Specialty Camp, day campers spend approximately twohours of each day in their specialized activity, with the remainder ofthe day spent enjoying Traditional Camp activities.SPORTS CAMPS (ALL BRANCHES)These camps offer a fun-filled sports environment with an emphasison team work, sportsmanship and basic fundamentals. Part of theday will be spent on your camper’s sport focus where they will focuson stretching, warm-ups, skill and drills, educational games andscrimmages. For the rest of the day, campers will experience all theother great activities the YMCA has to offer. Campers will createtheir next masterpiece in arts and crafts, explore nature and science,possibly take a dip in the pool and so much more.SPORTS ACADEMY (VENICE & ENGLEWOOD)Sports Academy offers the next level of sports instruction for yourbudding athlete. The majority of the day will be spent warmingup, honing skills through drills, playing developmental games andscrimmaging. Sports Academy Camps are taught by skilledathletes and experienced coaches that specialize in theirsport and are eager to share their love of sports with thenext generation of Joe Montanas, Jackie Robinsons,Mia Hamms and Usain Bolts.TEEN LEADERSHIP (ALL BRANCHES)At the Y, we help youth set and achieve their personal andeducational goals. They gain confidence as they recognize the Yas a place where they belong and can feel comfortable exploring newinterests and passions. A unique program designed especially forteenagers and a careful balance of program components has beencreated to foster creativity, adventure, peer interaction, leadershipskills, values and friendships that will last a lifetime.SUMMERDAY CAMP CATEGORIESSome camp categories are not available at all locations.AQUATIC CAMPS (BS, LR, BB, V, & E)Have fun and keep cool this summer! YMCA Aquatic Camps areperfect for children of all ages. Each camper will spend at least twosession blocks in the pool participating in a daily lesson, aquaticgames and free swim, learning an important life skill. Campers areswim tested daily and placed in color-coded groupsbased on age and ability.GYMNASTICS (VENICE)Gymnastics programs at the YMCA range from classes and summercamps to competitive team. Learn and refine basic skills, improveyour balance and coordination while gaining self-esteem. Practicebars, side handstands, beam routines, cartwheels and more.Gymnastics Camps are offered from 5 years and up.TRAVEL CAMPS (VENICE & ENGLEWOOD)Travel Camps take to the road with a combination of excitingfield trips and activities in our camp facilities. Campers will enjoy newexperiences by taking trips every day. Our trained camp counselorshelp to ensure every day is safe and supervised, so parents can resteasy knowing their young ones are in a secure environment. Tripdestinations can include, but are not limited to, roller and ice-skating,historical destinations, indoor and outdoor amusement parks, pizza andmovie day, swim destinations and much more.KINDER CAMP (BS, FR & VENICE)Kindergarten Readiness Camp is designed to help children have a funcamp experience while also helping them get better prepared for thestart of their academic career. This camp is full of enriching activitiesbut designed for the little ones. Each weekly session allows forexploration and individual learning opportunities. Little campers willunplug, enjoy hands-on learning, build and learn new skills and makenew friends. Our weekly activities include STEAM, sports and games,art and songs. Each week is a brand new adventure.CAMP ESTERO (BONITA SPRINGS)Camp Estero Outdoor Day Camp is what summer should be: the fun andfreedom of the outdoors while learning new skills and making greatfriends! Each week is filled with new activities to explore!
