WHO WE AREThe Bradford County Regional Arts Council and PennsylvaniaCouncil on the Arts developed the Northern Tier Partnership forthe Arts in Education program to provide intensive, on-going artsexperiences that inspire, stimulate, and affirm creativity in thecommunity. Residency programs support arts educationactivities that have substantial impact beyond the residencyitself.

OUR GOALIntegrate, expand, and build awareness of the arts into rural Pennsylvania communities.Promote individuality, growth, learning, and understanding.Affirm the creative potential of each person; enhance technical knowledge and ability; inspirecreativity; stimulate the expression of personal vision; and applaud achievement.ARTISTS in RESIDENCEAn artist residency is when an artist partners with an organization to conduct workshops or in-classpresentations. The artist will consult with students to develop creative capabilities, decision making,and technical skills. Residencies should be focused on student outcomes relating to sound artisticprocesses. Every residency is expected to impact the community beyond the organization itself. Anyart is possible, from painting or drawing to film, graphic design, music, performance, poetry,storytelling, woodworking, sculpture and glass work.

WHO CAN HOST A RESIDENCY?Eligible residency host sites can be any 501(c)3 organization wishing to enhance existing curriculaand/or provide hands- on artistic experiences for students, residents, educators, and communitymembers.COSTResidency costs are divided between the host site and BCRAC’s funds provided by the PCA.These costs include: a daily artist fee (no less than 150 for community-based residencies,and no less than 200 for school-based residencies), and any visiting artist fee. Costs that arenot divided are an administrative fee (10% total residency cost), and artist supplies. Thesecosts are the responsibility of host organization. Artist travel expenses are also not included ina funds match and should be discussed with the artist and budgeted for.A 10-day residency is eligible to receive up to 30% total cost fromthe BCRAC. The host site is expected to cover the other 70% plusAdmin Fee.15-day residencies are eligible to receive up to 40% of total cost.The host site is expected to pay remaining 60% plus Admin Fee.20 days or more are eligible to receive up to 50% of total cost andthe host site is expected to match 50% and cover Admin Fee.
