Internship Webinar SeriesGuidebookSpring/Summer Series 2017

OVERVIEWAs we strive to increase the awareness and benefts of internships at the State of Vermont, the best frst step we can take is to connecthiring managers with schools and other resources to see all their internship options. Te best way to do that is to have a series of shortwebinars where colleges and other related organizations can present their internship program to hiring managers. Why did we do this?By having colleges and other internship-focused organizations present their programs directly to you, you can get valuable informationon each program’s relevance to your needs and can make informed decision in a more expedient manner when you have a need thatan intern could fulfll. You will also get a guidebook at the end of the webinar series that captures each institution’s program with keycontact and calendar information for future reference. While we want to connect managers with the colleges, Recruitment will always be there to support and facilitate conversations andrequests with colleges for intern candidates.Contact us at: DHR.Internships@vermont.gov or bill.meirs@vermont.gov. I can say nowthat I not only have new professional connections, but good friends that Iwould like to stay in touch with in the future. It was humbling for me towork with such dedicated individuals who strive towards their goals. It wasnot easy working under some of the restrictions that the state puts on itsemployees, but I also recognize that all I can do is do the best with what Ihave available to me. I hope to carry on these fundamental lessons in the nextchapter of my professional career. I will be meeting with Dana in a coupleweeks outside of work to catch up everything. He has been a great mentor tome and I highly value the advice he has given me.” – Michael P.HOW TO POST Computer Networking & CybersecurityComputer Science & InnovationData Analytics (new major as of fall 2017)Game ProgrammingStiller School of BusinessAccountingBusiness AdministrationFinanceGame Production ManagementInternational Business Management &InnovationMarketingTiming of Champlain’s Academic Internships: Internships are typically completed: Fall semester: Early September to mid-December Spring semester: Mid-January to late April Summer: Mid-May to mid-AugustMost are 3-credit internships equaling 120 hours during theperiod of 15 weeks.CONTACT INFOLearn about the unique internship process for relevantmajors by speaking with a career coachEmail your posting to careercollaborative@champlain.eduUse our posting formDIY: Create and manage your posting in JobSpot, ouronline job boardRecruit in person during our Signature Events:Tuesday, October 24, 2017: Fall Career Conference & FairTuesday, March 27, 2018: Spring Career Conference & FairPat Boera - Associate Director, Network & TalentDevelopment Career hamplain.eduInternship Webinar Guidebook-3-
