WE STAND READY.The 610th Security Forces Squadron providestop-notch readiness training for immediate and effectiveresults during contingency operations worldwide.MissionÎÎHistoryConceived and implemented by Colonel, then Major, Mike Mungavin the 610th Security Forces Squadron began life as partof the 10th Air Force staff at Bergstrom Air Force Base, TX. Though originally designed to meet the training requirementsfor Reserve Security Forces, the 610 SFS has also been proud to provide training to a variety of other AFSCs as the needarose. CCsfms1s2ccfs3s4s5610th security forces squadronCC Commander of the organization, the driving force responsible for mission readiness, quality of force and training needsconducted on behalf of the Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC/A7S).SFM The Security Forces Manager is the right hand of the commander responsible for all matters enlisted. The duties of theSFM encompass manpower, enlisted force management, and mentorship for the force.S1 The unsung hero’s of the squadron responsible for all administrative and personnel support for the squadron. Thisoutstanding support includes but is not limited to; orders production, MILPDS products, travel voucher and pay issues. Thesmallest section with the largest impact.S2 A multi-faceted section which is tasked with unit level Anti Terrorism (AT) functions as well as managing the OPSECand COMSEC programs. As well as unit level programs, the S2 section also conducts AT Level II and Active Shooter trainingcourses both of which provide valuable classroom and hands-on training designed to better equip our forces to protectthemselves and others.S3 The Operations section is the largest in the squadron which contains internal unit level training as well as instructorteams trained, equipped, and designed for conducting external training venues such as Patriot Defender. Know for it’s abilityto quickly and professionally design, implement, and execute training venues, the S3 section has long been known, bothwithin and without AFRC, as a quality “can-do” Cadre.S4 The logistical heart of the squadron, responsible for meeting the support and equipment needs for the thousand pluspersonnel trained annually, in addition they are also responsible for the equipment monitoring, procurement of, and “ReadyTo Go” status for 63 UTCs. Equally important is the attention to detail they provide to assigned vehicle fleet required to meetunit and AFRC training needs. These vehicles range from Polaris 4x4 Rangers to Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP)vehicles.S5 The unit’s Plans and Programs as well as the Training and Development (T&D) function both reside within this section.You will find the T&D element focused on not only developing new course curriculum but ensuring the currency and relevancyof the existing course content.42610th SECURITY FORCES

Patriot Defender (PD)TITLE: Patriot Defender (PD) CourseOVERVIEW: This unique concept of training provides Air Base Ground Defense training as outlined in AFI 36-2225 andin accordance with guidance from the Air Force Security Forces Center. This training meets both sustainment training andBase Security Operations pre-deployment requirements in accordance with AFI and Air Force Security Forces Center. PatriotDefender is designed to reinforce and enhance acquired skills, concepts and principles of Air Base Defense in a threatenvironment. Combat Skills Orientation (CSO)TITLE: Combat Skills Orientation (CSO) CourseOVERVIEW: CSO is an AFRC/A3O and 610 SFS training effort designed to provide a logical progression of trainee skills andtasks selected to develop a proficiency in common ground combat skills for non-Security Force personnel as designated byAFRC/A3O and IAW AMCI 10-202V4. This course prepares personnel to effectively plan, coordinate, supervise and conductorganic security and defensive operations of their personnel and critical resources in support of contingency and wartimemissions. Active Shooter Response Training (ASRT)TITLE: Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC) Active Shooter Response Training CourseOVERVIEW: The AFRC Active Shooter Response Training course is designed to provide law enforcement personnel withthe training and skill sets required to respond to and neutralize an active shooter situation. The course utilizes training,techniques, and principles associated in an active shooter situation as well as the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response(ALERRT) curriculum, which results in ALERRT recognized basic active shooter training certification. This course is designedfor front line law enforcement officers with varied levels of experience.LOCATION: Various.TARGET AUDIENCE: Security Forces (SF) personnel assigned to AFRC Installations with Base Operating Support (BOS)responsibilities. Tactical Automated Security System (TASS)TITLE: Tactical Automated Security System (TASS) CourseOVERVIEW: Provides information and hands-on experience in the operation, programming, and employment of TASSannunciators and sensors including fiberoptic sensor installation, and assessment devices. In addition, the course providesinformation and hands-on experience with trouble-shooting and contractor logistic support procedures for malfunctioningequipment. Antiterrorism Officer (ATO) Level IITITLE: Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC) Antiterrorism Officer (ATO) Level II CourseOVERVIEW: The Antiterrorism Officer (ATO) Level II training program is designed to teach personnel concepts and principlesof Force Protection in a terrorist threat environment. Upon completion of the course, attendees will be qualified to serveas an Antiterrorism Officer (ATO) to their wing/base/squadron/senior leadership at home station or when deployed. Theywill be responsible for managing the Antiterrorism Program for their unit. It is also a train the trainer program.
