The deadline for orders is the November 14th meeting. The delivery date for the doughwill be December 15th and Faith will deliver it toyou.PLACE:Faith will have the See’s candy order formsavailable at this meeting and they are due at theNovember 14th meeting. We will also place ascrip order at the November 14th meeting. Remember, those of youwho sponsor a scholarship recipient have to buyat least two tickets for the March event.Our October meeting will be at Coco’s and ourspeaker will be Katie Kari from “Be a Santa”.This group is part of the larger organizationcalled Home Instead that assists seniors. Shewill discuss this charitable organization and howthey market themselves. We will give her the60 completed lap blankets for the seniors forChristmas. Some other items that they needare: pajamas, non-skid socks, slippers, wordsearch books and small stuffed animals. The invocation and the pledge of allegiancewere recited. There were 14 members and our speaker present.Minutes. The minutes of the July 25, 2017 general meeting were printed in the September newsletter. Connie Tate moved the minutesbe approved as published, and Faith Carter-Michaelson secondedthe motion. Minutes were approved unanimously.Treasurer's Report. There were no questions so the report will be filedfor audit.Committee Reports – Ways and Means:Stater Brothers scrips – Connie Tate reported that the chaptermade 939 last fiscal year, and 78 current fiscal year.Wine Tasting – Faith only has 13 tickets available for theOctober 15, 2017 wine tasting event.Cookie Dough – She also had cookie dough order formsavailable. The deadline for submission to Faith is theNovember 14, 2017 general meeting.Committee Reports – Community Support – Faith already tied 25 blankets for seniors, and will have 25 more completed before the October general meeting.Other Announcements – Connie Tate reminded everyone that Octoberis Cancer Awareness Month.Program – Marti Christensen gave a presentation on her bottle lampbusiness:Each lamp is a decorated wine/liquor bottle, and can be painted any color as the base. Marti then paints beautifulartwork onto each bottle.Decorations can have a theme, and Swarovski crystals. Customers can supply their own (empty) bottle.Lamps can be battery-operated or plug-in. Current prices arebetween 25 and 55.Marti currently accepts mostly custom orders, by word-ofmouth. Treasurer’s Report – Faith reported the ending balance on 30 September was 14,828.19.4. Newsletter – any items to be published need to besubmitted to the Bulletin Chair by October 15, 20175. Hospitality – for October, we have additional menuchoices (chicken pot pie, smothered chicken, or soupwith half a sandwich)6. Special project Stater Brothers fundraiser – 87 wasraised in September7. Special project Wine Tasking fundraiser on Sunday,October 15th – all tickets were sold or committed8. Special project Cookie Dough fundraiser – ordersneed to be submitted to Chair by Tuesday, November14th. A reminder will be given at the October generalmeeting9. Special project Senior Blanket Work Meeting –Faith reported that all blankets are ready for Be a Santafor a Senior10. Member Interest Survey 2017-18 will be collectedat the October general meeting; all members are encouraged to complete a survey11. Next General Meeting will be on October 24th, atCoco’s, starting with Networking at 6:00 p.m.12.
