Topicsinclude terminology, OSHA standards, NIOSH certification, andmedical evaluation recommendations.Program highlightsinclude laboratories on respirator selection, qualitative fit testing,and the use of a large array of respiratory and supportequipment for hands-on training.OSHA 2250Principles of Ergonomics 750 February 26-28, 2013 18 hoursThis course covers the use of ergonomic principles to recognize,evaluate, and control work place conditions that cause orcontribute to musculoskeletal and nerve disorders. Topics includework physiology, anthropometry, musculoskeletal disorders, useof video display terminals, and risk factors such as vibration,temperature, material handling, repetition, and lifting andtransfers in health care. Technical topics includethe recognition of confined space hazards, basic informationabout instrumentation used to evaluate atmospheric hazards,and ventilation techniques. This course features workshops onpermit entry classification and program evaluation.OSHA 3095Electrical Standards 650 February 5-8, 2013 26 hoursThis shortened version of OSHA 3090 is designed to provide thestudent with a survey of OSHA's electrical standards and thehazards associated with electrical installations and equipment.Topics include single- and three-phase systems, cord- and plugconnected and fixed equipment, grounding, ground fault circuitinterrupters, and safety-related work practices. Whencompleted, this program will prepareparticipants to sit for the boardexam offered by the state ofKentucky.
