Our current half day program will still be available to families too! Registration for this program willbegin in January 2012.We are still in need of donations for Basket Bingo.We still have 15 baskets to fill with prizes. Thisyears focus will be on thetheme “Do This in Memory ofMe.” Those who have volunteered to serve as catechistswill be called forth to be commissioned for their ministry.Catechetical Sunday is awonderful opportunity to reflect on the role that eachperson plays, by virtue ofBaptism, in handing on thefaith and being a witness tothe Gospel. TWENTY– FIFTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME9/11 PRAYER REMEMBRANCEThe Sunday session of ReligiousEducation began their classes and newyear with a 9/11 Prayer Remembranceobservance on the playground. TheAmerican Legion and the VFW were onhand to present the colors, fire and playtaps. A flag was given to Sr. Alice Ann atthe conclusion of the event. Others present were Police Chief Anderson andFire Chief Scarbeary. Thank you to allfor the reverent observance.September 18, 2011THEOLOGY ON TAPThe first meeting of the Ottawa Theology on Tap willbe held at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 21 atthe Ottawa Knights of Columbus Hall on Main Streetin Ottawa.Our guest speaker will be Richard Nicholas, chairmanof the theology department at the University of St.Francis. The title of his short talk is, “Is Christ Physically Present in the Eucharist?” There will be anopen, ask-anything, question and answer period afterthis, on this subject and related subjects. Admissionis free and refreshments are available; bring a friendand a bunch of questions. If interested or formore information please call John Mouser 672-0935or Larry Benner 672-6061 so that we can order theappropriate amount of work books.OVERSEAS TOURHeinz-Dietrich Suppan, German teacher at MarquetteAcademy High School is conducting his 32nd overseas tour next July with a focus on Germany, theCzech Republic, Austria, Liechtenstein, Switzerlandand Paris.This student priced tour, that includes all transportation, hotel accommodations, sightseeing attractionsand most meals, is scheduled to depart Chicago on12 July and fly to Berlin where the tour will begin.Highlights of the tour include visits to Berlin, Potsdam,Dresden, Nuremberg, Prague, and Munich. The tourwill also focus on the Alps with visits to Innsbruck,Vaduz, central Switzerland and a three day stay behind to travel to Paris.An organizational meeting about the tour is slated forWednesday, September 21st in Room 205 at Marquette Academy High School. Information and applications will be distributed during the meeting.
