Pathway BriefARTS, A/V TECHNOLOGY &COMMUNICATIONFor incoming freshmen 2020–2021OVERVIEWThe Arts, A/V Technology, and Communication Jump Start 2.0 Pathway prepares students to organize and manage variousvisual aspects of data, visual arts, performing arts, and entertainment media industries. Pathway coursework equips studentsto work with animation, interactive technology, video graphics, data visualization, and special effects. Coursework includestraditional fine arts media, modern media art theory, color theory, composition and perspective, equipment maintenance, studiomanagement, and art portfolio marketing. This pathway also encompasses careers in augmented and virtual reality. Virtualreality is a computer-generated simulation of reality whereas augmented reality layers computer-generated images onto thereal world.COLLEGE AND CAREER CONNECTIONSFinding high-wage career opportunities directly out of high school can be challenging.
