Important tuition payment informationA college policy involving tuition and feepayments requires all students to:expenses, LCC offers Installment PaymentPlans as a convenient budget plan.n Pay tuition and fees in full.n Sign up for an Installment Payment Plan(available to all students).n Sign up for an Installment Deferred AidPayment Plan (available to financial aidstudents only).n Submit Third Party authorization (ifan employer, high school or agency issponsoring a student’s education). Thisdoes not include financial aid.This is not a loan program. With this paymentplan, students have no accumulated debt.There are no interest or finance chargesassessed, and there is not a credit checkrequired to participate. The cost toparticipate in the interest-free monthlypayment plan is a minimal per semester,nonrefundable enrollment fee.Students choosing to participate in theinstallment plan may pay for tuition and feesby automatic bank payment from a debit/credit card using MasterCard, Visa, Discoveror American Express. The Installmentpayment system will automatically withdrawa tuition payment on a stated date(s) of eachmonth from the bank account or credit card astudent designates for the payment plan.Students who do not complete one of theabove options by their payment due date willbe dropped from all of their classes. Paymentdue dates are based on the day a studentregisters. Payments are due by the paymentdue date listed on the student bill. Studentbills will be available to view in BannerStudent Self Service. Students will be notifiedby an e-mail sent to their LCC e-mail addresseach time a new bill is generated. Funding your educationFree Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)Getting help with paying for college startswith completing the online Free Applicationfor Federal Student Aid, commonly known asthe FAFSA.order to sign the FAFSA electronically.What’s Next?LCC’s Financial Aid Office then uses detailsfrom the completed FAFSA application togenerate an award letter outlining studenteligibility for grants (including Federal Pellgrants and Federal Supplemental EducationalOpportunity Grants), Federal Direct StudentLoans, and work-study awards. The entireprocess can take four to six weeks so applyearly! Please note the Financial Aid Officemay request additional information beforedetermining your awards. You are expectedto check your LCC e-mail and myLCC accountfrequently to receive the most up-to-datefinancial aid communication and information.The federal student aid process includesretrieving data from a student’s federal taxreturns (or a dependent’s parent’s tax return)and other information through a securefederal Web site: fafsa.govFAFSA applicants will also be asked for aschool code. Lansing Community College’sschool code is 002278. Providing thisnumber on the application permits thefederal government to release student FAFSAinformation to LCC.Federal Student Aid Identification (FSA ID)A FSA ID is a username and password that isneeded during the FAFSA application process.The FSA ID serves as a legal signature forcompleting the FAFSA and should not beshared with anyone, including family members,school personnel, loan servicers or contactcenter agents.
