ARTICULATION AGREEMENTBETWEENLA ROCHE COLLEGEANDGANNON UNIVERSITYINENGINEERINGMay, 2014PURPOSE OF AGREEMENTThis document establishes a 3 2 dual-degree articulation agreement between La Roche College (LRC)and Gannon University (Gannon). Its purpose is to afford students the opportunity to pre-plan theircollege careers, to enable students to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science at LRC anda Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Software Engineering at Gannon.MINIMUM STANDARDS FOR ARTICULATION STUDENTS Students must have a minimum cumulative LRC grade point average (GPA) of 3.0o In addition, the School of Engineering at Gannon requires a minimum grade of“C” for all Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science courses.o Students are encouraged to meet with an academic advisor at Gannon prior totheir first semester there to discuss their transition and any particular issuesrelating to their desired program of study. At a minimum, Gannon will accept all 72 credits listed on the attached LRC Pre-SoftwareEngineering curriculum sheet (Appendix A) toward fulfillment of the requirements forthe Software Engineering BS degree (Appendix B), provided grades of “C” or better areearned in the aforementioned subject areas. All students articulating to Gannon must be approved by the LRC sciences facultycommittee and Dean of Students to insure that all academic and conduct standards aremet. GPA is used to make an admissions decision but does not transfer. The grades of coursesdo not transfer, just the courses themselves.Students should verify their intent to enroll by making a deposit in the amount stipulated byGannon University no later than May 1 of the year in which they intend to begin coursework atGannon.Page 1 of 5

LRC students maintain fulltime enrollment of 15-18 credits each semester at Gannon, register forrecommended courses, and earn grades of “C” or higher which will fulfill graduationrequirements for the BS degree in Software Engineering in four semesters at Gannon.Students who are not able to complete all prerequisites prior to their desired semester ofenrollment may still be considered for admission.MANAGEMENT OF THE AGREEMENTChanges to the pre-engineering program at LRC (See Appendix A: LRC Pre-SoftwareEngineering) shall be communicated to the Dean of the College of Engineering and Business atGU, with a copy sent to the Provost and VP for Academic Affairs.Changes to the recommended 2-year software engineering program at GU (See Appendix B)shall be communicated to the LRC, Division Chair of Natural & Behavioral Sciences.MUTUAL TERMS AND CONDITIONSA. Term of the Agreement. This agreement shall be in effect for five (5) years from thedate of signature and will be reviewed annually for accuracy.B. Termination of the Agreement. La Roche College and Gannon University mayterminate this Agreement for any reason or no reason with ninety (90) days written noticefrom either party. Either party may terminate this Agreement in the event of a substantialbreach. However, should either party terminate this Agreement prior to the completion ofan academic semester, all students enrolled at that time may continue their educationalexperience until it would have been concluded absent the termination.C. Non discrimination. The parties agree to continue their respective policies ofnondiscrimination based on Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 in regard to sex, age,race, color, creed, and national origin, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972and other applicable laws, as well as the provisions on the Americans with DisabilitiesAct.D. Modification of Agreement. This Agreement shall only be modified in writing, with thesigned agreement of both parties.Page 2 of 5

E. Promotion of Agreement. Both parties have the right to use this agreement and thenames of La Roche College and Gannon University in all promotional activities includingcollege catalogs and recruitment or advisement activities.F. Relationship of Parties. The relationship between the parties to this Agreement to eachother is that of independent contractors. The relationship of the parties to this contract toeach other shall not be construed to constitute a partnership, joint venture or any otherrelationship, other than that of independent contractors.G. Liability. Neither of the parties shall assume any liabilities to each other. As to liabilityto each other or death to persons, or damages to property, the parties do not waive anydefense as a result of entering into this contract.H. Entire Agreement. This Agreement represents the entire understanding between theparties. No other prior or contemporaneous oral or written understandings or promisesexist in regards to this relationship. Any changes, corrections, or additions to this contractshall be in writing in the form of a supplemental agreement signed by all necessaryparties and setting forth therein the proposed change, correction, or addition.I. Annual Review. Representatives from both institutions will confer at least on an annualbasis to evaluate the success of this agreement. Should content change occur in atransferable course, the school making the change agrees to notify the other school inwriting so that this agreement can be re-evaluated. Notice of changes shall be provided atleast 45 days prior to the beginning of the semester in which change is implemented. La Roche College and Gannon University may terminate this Agreement for any reason or no reason with ninety (90) days written notice from either party. Either party may terminate this Agreement in the event of a substantial breach. However, should either party terminate this Agreement prior to the completion of
