DRAFT OF THE MONTH – Sept/Oct 2019Float Weave on 8 shaftsIn looking through the guild sample collection, I found a tiny little sample that was quitelovely. I think it was woven in 20/2 cotton, sett at about 32 epi. Neither the weavinginstructions, the weaver nor the source of the draft were included with the sample, but Iwas able to create a weaving draft that is at least a close approximation. It would bewonderful for a light blouse or delicate curtain fabric.Treadling is “Tromp as writ” or the same as the threading. The tie-up ratio is balanced –always 4 up and 4 down so the fabric is very much the same on both sides. A floatingselvage would help keep the edges neat.FABRIC VIEWSubmitted by Jannie Taylorwww.centralcoastweavers.org/6
