3Each successive generation that walks through their school’s halls represents thefuture, a chance to progress as a society. However, the state of public education simply isn’tkeeping pace with the world we live in today. Everything from teaching methods to classroomdesign are vestiges from a time where students’ options came from an economy based onagriculture and manufacturing. As a technology teacher I will be an innovator, a role model, and a mentor for everystudent that walks through my classroom door. My passion for all things technology will helpengage students and get them interested in these topics. My tenacity, my charismatic nature, and my ability to take things in stride are traits that will be put to good use whenever Iencounter a student who needs more guidance to realize their learning potential. Many students won’t see the appeal in STEM fields and think that it’s sitting in acubicle all day, calculating and drafting. However, I’ll .take STEM and show it off for what itreally is; a field of game shakers and move makers, innovation and excitement. A conduit tocreate a better future. A field at the forefront of human progress. And in an era where technology increasingly permeates every facet of our lives, it isall the more important to arm future generations with the knowledge necessary for a technicalworld.
