Hopefully warmer weather is quickly approaching us as we see the signs of spring bursting out from all the nooks and crannies of nature. In thesame way, change is creeping up at COTC. Starting this Sunday, May 1, we are moving to oneSunday morning service. This change will accommodate relationships throughout the COTCcommunity and will honor our volunteers as they facilitate the worship life of the church. We spent time in prayer and conversation over the past several months, seeking wisdom andguidance from a large portion of the congregation. In response to this time of prayer and discernment, the Lead Team unanimously moved to adopt a weekly Sunday morning schedule atChurch of the Cross that looks like this:Beginning Sunday, May 1st: 9:00 a.m. Sunday School/Discipleship Hour for All Ages10:00 a.m. Coffee and Conversation Time in the Gathering Space10:30 a.m. Worship ServiceIf this schedule looks familiar, it is the plan we moved to in 2018 after much prayer and consideration. The 10:30 a.m. Worship Service will continue to be a blend of elements that are currently apart of our Sunday morning worship services and will be guided by our Worship Ministries Teamand Pastor Joel.We are adding a new worship experience this Summer on Wednesday evenings, giving our folksan opportunity to go deeper in the study of our Sunday morning sermon series. Each Wednesday,we will gather at 6 PM, with a few minutes of worship, followed by an hour looking deeper into theScriptures, question and answer conversations, and prayer together as Holy Spirit leads us. Forthose of you who are traveling on Sunday mornings during the summer season, this is a great wayto stay connected. This month, on Sunday mornings, we will continue our work in a series from the book of Romans, titled, “The Gospel: The Power of God for Salvation.” For those of you following along with our Sermon Sunday School series facilitated by Keith and Kathy Lewis, please see the chart below foryour review. If we choose, all of us can add a little extra study to our daily lives before the worshipservices, too.DateSunday, May 1Sunday, May 8Sunday, May 15Sunday, May 22Sunday, May 29ThemeThe Gospel: The Powerof God for SalvationThe Gospel: The Powerof God for SalvationThe Gospel: The Powerof God for SalvationThe Gospel: The Powerof God for SalvationThe Gospel: The Powerof God for SalvationSermon TitleScriptureFrom Theology to DoxologyRomans 11:1-36Living in View of God’s MercyRomans 12:1-16Living in View of The Coming Day of ChristThe Unity of the GospelOn Being Great Commission ChristiansRomans 12:17-21,13:1-14Romans 14:1-23,15:1-13Romans 15:14-33
