Georgia CTSAGeorgia Clinical & Translational Science AllianceKL2-Mentored Clinical and Translational ResearchScholars ProgramThe goal of the Georgia Clinical & Translational Science Alliance (Georgia CTSA)KL2-Mentored Clinical and Translational Research Scholars Program is to supportand enhance career development for junior faculty (MD, PhD, MD/PhD, or PharmD) from a wide variety of disciplines at Emory University, Morehouse School ofMedicine (MSM), Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech), and University ofGeorgia (UGA) College of Pharmacy. The Georgia CTSA KL2 Program is committedto assisting junior faculty at partner institutions to become independent, established, and ethical clinical and/or translational research investigators. Trainees accepted intothe KL2 Scholars Program will receive salary support to enable them to spend at least75% of their professional time (50% is allowed for trainees from surgery or surgicalsubspecialties) on clinical and/or translational research and research training and a 25,000 technical budget for research-related expenses and tuition for the Master ofScience in Clinical Research (MSCR) degree or Certificate Program in TranslationalResearch (CPTR) curriculum. Didactic research training is provided through therequired MSCR or CPTR and mentored research training under the direction of anestablished, federally funded clinical investigator at one of the collaborating institutions. Support in the program will be provided for up to two years.Former KL2 scholar J. Lucas McKay, PhD, Wallace H.Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at Emoryand Georgia Tech, uses electromyography and kinematicmotion capture techniques to better understand howbalance and gait are affected in Parkinson’s diseaseKL2 Application InformationWho Should ApplyJunior faculty with a doctorate (MD, PhD,MD/PhD, PharmD, or equivalent) at therank of Instructor or Assistant Professorat Emory, MSM, Georgia Tech, or UGACollege of Pharmacy are eligible to applyto the program.
