A native of Atlanta, Georgia, she obtained a Bachelors of Sciencein Mathematics from Clark Atlanta University followed by Masters in Public Health andin Divinity from Emory University. Prior to earning a McKnight Fellowship award, Heathresearched HIV/AIDS at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) inAtlanta. She has received numerous awards for work in the community and in scientificresearch, including the USF Golden Bull Award this year. Heath has published andpresented in the areas of spirituality and mental health, gender and ethnicity, HIV/AIDS,and womanist theory.
