Your gifts have touched thousandsof lives, and this donor report highlights just a few ways yourgenerosity has made an impact.Leading-edge Equipment for Early Diagnosis and TreatmentsThe Foundation launched a “40 Years of Giving” appeal with a goal of 40,000 to purchase eight newinfusion chairs, a bone marrow treatment table, and other small equipment for our new oncologyinfusion center. In the end, we raised 55,000! The excess funds have been restricted to a Cancer CareFund for the future needs of our oncology program that could include additional equipment, patientcomfort items and educational materials, and advanced training for oncology staff.Guthrie Cortland also received 107,000 from the Foundation’s Capital Equipment Endowment forthe purchase of a treadmill stress test system, automated endoscopes, and surgical instruments fororthopedic procedures.Scholarships and Continuing EducationThe Foundation’s four scholarship programs assisted 10 clinical staff members with academic andcontinuing education support. Excellus BlueCross BlueShield awarded us a Community Health Award of 4,000 for a “SmokingCessation Program for Pregnant Women”. National Grid Foundation contributed 2,500 for a “Food Prescription Program”– a preventive careprogram to address the needs of families at a high risk of diet-related diseases.Employees Who Give GenerouslyThe Healthcare Employees Reaching Out (HERO) Annual Giving Campaign held in October was ahuge success with over 51,000 pledged. Half of the funds raised were designated for the Foundation’sEmployee Assistance Fund and the remainder will remain unrestricted to support future needs at themedical center.These are just a few examples of your gifts at work.
