When assuming ownership of a firearm, youbecome responsible for the safety and security ofthe firearm. Always secure firearms and keep outof the reach of children.Children are attracted to and can operatefirearms that can cause severe injuries or death.Prevent child access by keeping guns lockedaway and unloaded when not in use. If youkeep a loaded firearm where a child obtains andimproperly uses it, you may be fined or sent toprison.ALWAYS TREAT EVERY FIREARM AS IF IT WERELOADED AND WILL FIRE. Do not take anyone’sword that the firearm is unloaded: always checkfor yourself. Never pass your firearm to anotherperson until the cylinder or action is open andyou confirm visually that it is unloaded. Keepyour firearm unloaded and safely stored whennot in use.NEVER PLACE YOUR FINGER INSIDE THE TRIGGERGUARD OR ON THE TRIGGER UNLESS YOU INTENDTO FIRE.ALWAYS BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHATIS BEYOND IT. Always be sure where the bulletwill strike, and shoot only where there is a safebackstop free of obstructions. Water or othersurfaces can cause ricochets. Be sure your bulletwill stop behind your target. Bullets can ricochetoff many surfaces, such as rocks, and travel inunpredictable directions with considerablevelocity. Do not fire randomly into the sky.Make sure your “audience” maintains a five footdistance behind you. No one should stand nextto you when you are firing a firearm.GUN SAFETY IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY3

SAFETY INFORMATION Never touch the trigger when workingthe slide.Never alter any components of yourfirearm.Never keep a loaded firearm in yourhome, car, boat, or RV.Never store a firearm with a cartridge inthe chamber.Never store firearms and ammunitiontogether. Keep them secured and awayfrom children.For maximum safety when carrying anypistol with a loaded magazine in place,the chamber should be empty, and theslide should be closed. Any gun may fire ifdropped or struck.!Only use clean, dry, high-quality commerciallymanufactured ammunition, that is in excellentcondition and is the correct caliber for your pistolThe use of reloaded and Plus P ammunition willvoid this firearm’s warranty. Reloads or poorquality ammunition may not meet industryspecifications (SAAMI and/or NATO), may exceedpressure limits, and may be unsafe.Never use ammunition where the pressure levelsexceed industry standards. ment. Always wear shooting glasses and hearingprotection.If the gun does not discharge after the trigger ispulled, do not change its direction for at least 30seconds. The round could be a “hangfire”. LOADING AND FIRINGWHEN LOADING A DIAMONDBACK FIREARMSPISTOL, ALWAYS BE SURE THAT THE PISTOL ISPOINTED IN A SAFE DIRECTION AND THAT THETRIGGER FINGER IS OUTSIDE OF THE TRIGGERGUARD AND WELL AWAY FROM THE TRIGGER.USE ONLY AMMUNITION OF THE PROPERCALIBER, AS SPECIFIED ON THE FIREARM.The magazine is filled by pushing one round at atime into the magazine. Rounds are pushed, rearlip first, into the front of the magazine. First pushthe round down to overcome the pressure of themagazine spring, then push the round fully tothe rear of the magazine.Visually inspect the chamber to verify that it isempty. This will reset the firing pin if you havedry fired the weapon.12

Insert the magazine into the magazine well atthe base of the grip. Push until the magazinecatch is fully engaged.Pull the slide fully to the rear then release itcompletely to allow the recoil springs to forcethe slide forward at a high rate of speed. Thisaction will load a round from the magazine intothe chamber.NOTE: Only chamber rounds from the magazine. Do not attempt to chamber an individualround.The DIAMONDBACK FIREARMS pistol is nowready to fire. DO NOT PUT YOUR FINGERINSIDE THE TRIGGER GUARD OR NEAR THETRIGGER UNTIL YOU HAVE IDENTIFIED YOURTARGET AND INTEND TO SHOOT.IF YOU PULL THE TRIGGER THE PISTOL WILLFIRE. Hold the pistol firmly when shooting. Ifit is not held firmly, a misfeed could occur.13

UNLOADINGTo unload a DB pistol, remove the magazine bypressing the magazine catch in and pulling itfrom the bottom of the grip, and pull the slideback quickly to extract and eject the roundin the chamber. Do not obstruct the ejectionport. Keep all fingers away from the trigger andmuzzle.14VISUALLY INSPECT THE CHAMBER TO MAKESURE IT IS EMPTY

SIGHT ADJUSTMENTNOTE: This section does not apply to “MSMODELS”The rear sight is held in place by a tight fit.Windage (Side to Side) adjustments are madeby pressing the rear sight in the direction youwant the bullet to move. If the target group isto the left of where you are aiming the sights,then move the rear sight to the right and this willmove the bullet placement to the right.NOTE: When pressing the sight, use anon-marring material against the sight andthe slide to avoid damage to either.15

FIELD STRIPPINGFor normal cleaning and maintenance, it issufficient to dismantle or “field strip” the pistolinto its main components: Slide, Barrel, RecoilSpring, Recoil Spring Guide Assembly, Receiverand Magazine.First, remove the magazine and visually confirmthat there is not a round in the chamber. Thenpull the trigger, releasing the striker. Next, pullthe slide and barrel back just enough to allowthe assembly catch to be pressed down all of theway. While holding the assembly catch down,release the slide and barrel and remove themfrom the receiver.16NOTE: If the slide is pulled too far back it willreset the striker and will not slide forward offof the receiver. Do not use force! Repeat operations above.

LUBRICATIONRemove the magazine and visually confirm thatthere is not a round in the chamber. Then “FieldStrip” the pistol. Remove the Barrel. There arethree lubrication points on the inside of the slide.They are illustrated in the picture to the right.11. Right Slide Rail Slot2. Left Side Rail Slot3. MAINTENANCECleaning and proper lubrication of your magazine is very important for proper function ofyour DB pistol. Dirt may slow the follower inyour magazine due to excess friction and cause afeeding failure.NOTE: This section explains how to disassemble your magazine for proper cleaning andlubrication. Always wear safety glasses whendisassembling a firearm.With your magazine turned upside-down, pressdown on the round tab in the floor plate with an1/8” punch. (Only move the floor plate forwardenough to disengage the round tab)Then, with your thumb over the bottom of themagazine slowly remove the floor plate.After the floor plate has been removed, gentlyrelease the tension of the spring.18Next, remove the floor plate retainer, magazinespring, and follower from the magazine body.The magazine body should be thoroughlycleaned with a magazine brush, (An old toothbrush will work as well,) with your preferredsolvent.

The magazine spring, floor plate retainer, and followershould also be cleaned.After you have finished cleaning the parts and allowed themto dry, a light film of oil should be applied to the follower.The magazine body and spring should be sprayed with alight oil and wiped dry.Now you can reassemble the magazine.We recommend that the magazine be cleaned as often asyour gun to ensure the best reliability possible out of yourDB pistol.Next, remove the floor plate retainer, magazine spring, andfollower from the magazine body.The magazine body should be thoroughly cleaned with amagazine brush, (An old toothbrush will work as well,) withyour preferred solvent.19

LOADING AND FIRINGWhen loading a Diamondback Firearms pistol,always be sure that the pistol is pointed in a safedirection and that the trigger finger is outside of thetrigger guard and well away from the trigger.Use only ammunition of the proper caliber, as specified on the firearm.Pull the slide rearward until it engages the slide stop.Next, remove the magazine to load it.The magazine is filled by pushing one round at a timeinto the magazine. Rounds are pushed, rear lip first, intothe front of the magazine. First push the round downto overcome the pressure of the magazine spring, thenpush the round fully to the rear of the magazine.Visually inspect the chamber to verify that it is empty.This will reset the firing pin if you have dry fired theweapon.20

Do not attempt to chamber an individual round. Do not attemptto load a round through the ejection port.Do not put your finger inside the trigger guard or nearthe trigger until you have identified your target and intend to shoot. If you pull the trigger the pistol will fire.If the pistol is not held firmly, a misfeed could occur.21

UNLOADINGTo unload a DIAMONDBACK FIREARMS pistol,depress the magazine catch and remove themagazine from the bottom of the grip. Next, pullthe slide back quickly to eject the round in thechamber. Do not obstruct the ejection port. Keepfingers away from the trigger and muzzle.22VISUALLY INSPECT THE CHAMBER TO MAKESURE IT IS EMPTY.

SIGHT ADJUSTMENTThe front and rear sights are held in place by setscrews. Carefully loosen the rear sight set screw byturning it counter clockwise. Use a M4 hex key. Thiswill allow the rear sight to move. If the target groupis to the left of where you are aiming the sights, thenmove the rear sight to the right and this will move thebullet placement to the rightNOTE: When pressing the sight, use a non-marringmaterial against the sight and the slide to avoiddamage to either.23

COCKED STRIKER INDICATORThis DIAMONDBACK FIREARMS pistol containsa cocked striker indicator. When the firearm hasbeen cocked, the pin will appear flush with theslide rear cover.IN (not cocked)Never rely on a cocked striker indicator alone.Always assume the firearm is loaded.24FLUSH (cocked)

TRIGGER SAFETYThis DIAMONDBACK FIREARMS pistol is equipped with a trigger safety that blocks the trigger frommoving backwards. The safety is released once both the trigger safety and trigger are pulled together.Safety devices are not a substitute for safe firearm operation and handling. Always follow thesafe operation and safe handling rules for this DIAMONDBACK FIREARMS pistol.25

FIELD STRIPPINGFor normal cleaning and maintenance, it is sufficientto dismantle or “field strip” the pistol into its maincomponents: Slide, Barrel, Recoil Assembly, Receiverand Magazine.First, point the pistol in a safe direction and makesure that your finger is off the trigger. Remove themagazine and visually confirm that there is not around in the chamber. Then pull the trigger, releasingthe striker. Next, pull the slide and barrel back justenough to allow the assembly catch to be presseddown all of the way. While holding the assembly catchdown, release the slide and barrel and remove themfrom the receiver.If the slide is pulled too far back it will reset thestriker and will not slide forward off of the receiver. Do not use force! Repeat operations above.26

LUBRICATIONRemove the magazine and visually confirmthat there is not a round in the chamber. Then“Field Strip” the pistol. MAINTENANCECleaning and proper lubrication of your magazineis very important for proper function of your DBpistol. Dirt may slow the follower in your magazinedue to excess friction and cause a feeding failure.This section explains how to disassemble yourmagazine for proper cleaning and lubrication.Always wear safety glasses when disassemblinga firearm.With your magazine turned upside-down, pressdown on the round tab in the magazine bottomwith an 1/8” punch. (Only move the magazine bottom forward enough to disengage the round tab)Then, with your thumb over the bottom of themagazine slowly remove the magazine bottom.After the magazine bottom has been removed,gently release the tension of the spring.28Next, remove the magazine bottom retainer,magazine spring, and follower from the magazine body.The magazine body should be thoroughlycleaned with a magazine brush, (an old toothbrush will work as well), with your preferredsolvent.

The magazine spring, magazine bottom, retainer, andfollower should also be cleaned.After you have finished cleaning the parts and allowed them to dry, a light film of oil should be appliedto the follower.The magazine body and spring should be sprayedwith a light oil and wiped dry.Now you can reassemble the magazine.We recommend that the magazine be cleaned as often as your gun to ensure the best reliability possibleout of your DIAMONDBACK FIREARMS pistol.29

SERVICEShould your firearm need adjustment, refinishing,or repair, it should be returned to the factory,unloaded.When shipping the firearm, be sure to adhere to thefollowing rules:Federal Firearms Licensees are required to send anupdated copy of their FFL with the return of a repair.Firearms and contents must be shipped in a propercardboard box.Please do not ship with ammunition, it will not bereturned.You are responsible for knowing your state andfederal firearm laws.Individuals who wish to return the firearm forservice can do so by shipping it to the address below.No return authorization number is required.30Any firearm shipped for service must have achild safety lock and key with it. If not thenDIAMONDBACK FIREARMS will include one uponreturn at the owners expense.Include a letter of instruction, your full name, address,telephone number, and the firearms serial number.This will ensure prompt service and handling. Onceyour firearm has been received, anything other thanwarranty work will receive a quotation. TROUBLESHOOTINGThe proper function of your DB pistol is directly relatedto care and maintenance. As with any firearm, a 50-100round break-in period may be required. During thisperiod, some failure-to-feed, failure-to-extract or failureto-eject malfunctions may occur.Failure-to-Feed: occurs when a cartridge has been fedfrom the magazine but not fully into the chamber. Themost common causes are: improper ammunition, dirtor debris impeding the magazine follower, or as a resultof not holding the pistol firmly while shooting. Pointyour gun in a safe direction and remove the magazine,then remove the round from the chamber. Clean andlubricate the firearm properly, then reload and try to fireagain.are: improper ammunition, dirt or debris, a damagedextractor or not holding the firearm tight enough. Pointyour gun in a safe direction and remove the magazine,then remove the fired case. Check ammunition forproper caliber and type, and check for any damage of theextractor. Clean and lubricate the firearm properly, thenreload and try to fire again.Failure-to-Eject: occurs when a fired case is extractedfully from the chamber but does not clear the ejectionport properly. The most common causes are: improperammunition, dirt or debris, a damaged ejector tip or notholding the firearm tight enough. Check ammunitionfor proper caliber and type, check for any damage of theejector tip.
