Degree requirements must becompleted under one catalog in effect during the student’s enrollment at Howard Payne University.Howard Payne University reserves the right to change degree requirements for all students if it is needed toimprove the degree programs and/or to make a curriculum program consistent for all students. Changes in theacademic program may be necessary to improve the effectiveness of the educational program. All such changesare effective at such times as the proper authorities determine and may apply not only to prospective studentsbut to those who already are enrolled in the university. All policies concerning non-curriculum requirements areeffective for all students as of June 1, 2020. University policy explains in detail the procedures to beused by the institution for compliance with the provisions of the act. Additional information regarding FERPA is available in the appendix of this catalogand copies of the policy can be found in the Office of the Registrar.The release of information to the public without the written consent of the student will be limited to categories of information designed as directoryinformation. The student may request that any of this information be withheld from the public by making written request to the Office of the Registrarprior to the 8th class day of a fall or spring semester, or the 4th class day of a summer term. Directory information includes name, address (local andhome), telephone number, email address (campus and personal), parent’s or guardian’s name, spouse’s name, marital status, dates of attendance,classification, previous institution(s) attended, degrees conferred (including dates), past and present participation in officially recognized sports andactivities, physical factors (height, weight for athletics), date and place of birth, and photographs (still photo, video, etc.).4
