OUR VALUESFaithHonour‘Now faith is confidence in what we hope forand assurance about what we do not see’(Heb 11:1)‘ Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with allyour soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these’(Mark 12:30-31)As a faith community, we bear witness to a Biblical truththat reveals that God is committed to humanity with astrong and patient love. By faith, we are also witnesses tothe life and death of Jesus, confident that His resurrectionchanges everything. Faith is a foundational attitude forlife. It expresses itself as the pursuit of truth, trustingobedience, perseverance in doubt, constant prayer anda total confidence in Christ. The application of faith will impactthe thinking and relationships of the College Community. Our primary purpose is to honour God in everything we think, sayand do. Living simply and sustainably is how we honour God’screation. Respecting and valuing one another is core to all ourrelationships. Honour generally recognises the good in others. It isalso found in those enduring qualities of character we call integrity, wisdom, valuing the truth and ever seeking to close the gapbetween our words and actions.ExcellenceCreativityService‘Until we all reach unity in the faith andin the knowledge of the Son of God andbecome mature, attaining to the wholemeasure of the fullness of Christ’(Eph 4:13)‘For in Him we live and moveand have our being’(Acts 17:28)‘He has shown you. what is good. Andwhat does the Lord require of you?To act justly and to love mercy and towalk humbly with your God’(Micah 6:8)Excellence is focused determination to participatein the fullness of life as God intends. It makesthe most of academic, sporting and serviceopportunities, striving to develop potential andour capacity for learning. The pursuit of excellenceis not about perfection. Instead excellenceovercomes adversity and learns from failure inits desire for growth and maturity. Excellenceoffers the best of ourselves – our time and ourtalents, ‘as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing’(Rom 12:1) for God’s glory.A ministry of Toongabbie Baptist ChurchCreativity begins with curiosity andwonder in the amazing diversity ofGod’s creation. It delights in learningthrough play, exploration and discovery.God has given us all gifts of creativity. It is upon us to discover these giftsand to utilise them for God's glory. At its heart creativity inspires vision.Fostering creativity builds capacityto see and experience the world infresh and new ways. It is the catalystfor ingenuity, problem solvingand innovation.Service recognises that loving God is a lifepoured out humbly serving others. God invitesus to participate with Him in healing, renewingand restoring our world. Therefore in servingothers, we seek to be generous, inclusive andcompassionate; desiring justice and a fair go foreveryone. Service requires standing up for andalongside those in need. While it seeks to relieveimmediate suffering, at its heart service alsoworks to empower, building the capacity andchoices of others.Centred in Christ
