5000 Plus Series RotorTechnical Specification5000 Plus Series Full and ReversingFull/Part Circle SprinklerThe full and/or part circle sprinkler shall be asingle-stream, water-lubricated, gear-drive typecapable of covering a foot (xx meter) atpounds per square inch (psi) or (bar) with adischarge rate of gallons per minute ( gpm)( m3/h). The sprinkler shall have a flow shut-offdevice that is integrated into the flow path of therotor as well as adjustable arc coverage of 40 to360 degrees. Arc adjustment can be performedwith or without the sprinkler in operation and shallrequire only a flat-blade screwdriver.close-in watering. The angle of trajectory shallbe 25 degrees for the Rain Curtain nozzles and 10degrees for the low angle nozzles. The sprinklershall come with a stainless steel adjusting screwcapable of reducing the radius up to 25%.The sprinkler shall be as manufactured by Rain BirdCorporation, Glendora, California.Optional Feature Specification5000 Plus Series SAM, Full andReversing Full/Part CircleSprinkler SAM unitThe sprinkler shall have a smoothed flow pathentrance to enhance the flow characteristics of therotor. In addition, the sprinkler shall feature a flowpath to nozzle bore transition radius to minimizepressure loss and assure peak nozzle radius isachieved.When so indicated on the design, the sprinklershall have a spring-loaded Seal-A-Matic (SAM)device in the base of the case. The device shallhold back at least 7’ (2, 13m) of elevation change toprevent puddling, run-off and erosion caused bylow-head drainage.The sprinkler shall have a pressure activated, multifunction wiper seal that positively seals against thepop-up stem to keep debris out of the rotor and toclean debris from the pop-up stem as it retracts.5000 Plus Series Full and ReversingFull/Part Circle Non-PotableThis wiper seal shall prevent sprinkler from stickingup, and be capable of sealing the sprinkler cap tosprinkler body under normal operating pressures.The sprinkler shall have a screen installed in thepop-up stem to filter inlet water, protect the drivefrom clogging and simplify its removal for cleaningand flushing of the system. It shall have a 3 4”(FNPT) bottom inlet.The sprinkler shall have a standard green rubbercover and a strong stainless steel retract spring forpositive pop down. Pop-up height as measuredfrom the top of the cap, at normal installation, tothe middle of the nozzle orifice shall be inchesor cm.The rotor’s overall height shall be inches( cm), with an exposed surface diameter of15 8”
