SCRIPTURALPRAYEROF PROTECTION

FATHER, YOUR WORD SAYS in 1 John 5:14–15 (GNB), “We havecourage in God’s presence, becausewe are sure that He hears us if we askHim for anything that is according toHis will. He hears us whenever we askHim; and since we know this is true, weknow also that He gives us what we askfrom Him.” So I am going to pray directlyfrom Your word, the Bible, so that I knowI am praying according to Your will, andtherefore You will hear me and answer myprayers.AND YOUR WORD SAYS in Philippians 4:6 (ESV), “Do not beanxious about anything, but in every2

thing by prayer and supplication withthanksgiving let your requests be madeknown to God.” So I refuse to be anxiousor worried about anything. And I choose, rather, to pray about everything, and tomake all of my requests to You withthanksgiving. I am thanking you in faiththat You will keep these promises to me.AND YOUR WORD SAYS in 2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV), “For God hasnot given us a spirit of fear, but of powerand of love and of a sound mind.” So Ithank You Lord that I do not, and will not, have a spirit of fear, but of power and oflove and of a sound mind.3

YOUR WORD ALSO SAYS in Isaiah 41:10 (GNB), “Do not beafraid— I am with you! I am your God—let nothing terrify you! I will make youstrong and help you; I will protect youand save you.” So in the name of Jesus,I will not be afraid because You are withme. You are my God, so nothing will terrifyme. You will make me strong and You willhelp me. And regardless what happens,You will protect me and save me.AND YOUR WORD SAYS in Psalm 46:1–2 (NKJV), “God is ourrefuge and strength, a very present helpin trouble. Therefore we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and4

though the mountains be carried intothe midst of the sea.” Therefore I thankYou that You are my refuge and mystrength. You are a very present help introuble. Even if the whole earth is removed, and even if every mountain is thrown intothe ocean, I refuse to fear.AND YOUR WORD SAYS in Isaiah 54:17 (NKJV), “‘No weaponformed against you shall prosper, andevery tongue which rises against you injudgment You shall condemn. This isthe heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me,’Says the Lord.” So I declare in the nameof Jesus that no weapon formed against5

me shall prosper, and that every tongue—every negative word that disagrees withYour promises to me—and every wordthat rises against me to judge me, I condemn and cast down. Such words will notcome to pass. This divine protection ispart of my inheritance as a servant of theLord, and my righteousness—my worthiness to have this protection—comes fromYou, the final authority.YOUR WORD ALSO SAYS in Luke 10:19 (NKJV), “Behold, I giveyou the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all thepower of the enemy, and nothing shallby any means hurt you.” So I thank You6

Lord that You have given me the authorityto use the name of Jesus to trample onserpents and scorpions—every kind ofevil spirit—and over all the power of theenemy. And because of that, nothing shallby any means hurt me.AND YOUR WORD SAYS in Isaiah 53:5 (NKJV), “But He waswounded for our transgressions, Hewas bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him,and by His stripes we are healed.” So Ithank You Lord that Jesus was woundedto pay for my transgressions. He wasbruised to pay for my iniquities. He endured severe punishment to pay for my7

peace. And because He paid for my healing by willingly being scourged, I declarethat by His stripes I am healed.YOUR WORD ALSO SAYS in Psalm 103:2–3 (NKJV), “Bless theLord, O my soul, and forget not all Hisbenefits: who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases.” So Ichoose to bless You from the depths ofmy soul, and I will not forget all Your benefits. You forgive all of my iniquities, andYou heal all of my diseases.8

PRAYING PSALM 91And now, Lord, I pray Psalm 91. Because Iam an heir of the blessing of Abrahamthrough Jesus Christ I personalize everypromise in this chapter. According to Psalm91 (NKJV modified) I declare: I dwell in thesecret place of the Most High and abideunder the shadow of the Almighty. I willsay of the Lord, “He is my refuge and myfortress; my God, in Him I will trust.” SurelyHe shall deliver me from the snare of thefowler and from the perilous pestilence. Heshall cover me with His feathers and underHis wings I shall take refuge. His truth shallbe my shield and buckler. I shall not beafraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrowthat flies by day, nor of the pestilence that9

walks in darkness, nor of the destruction thatlays waste at noonday. A thousand may fallat my side, and ten thousand at my righthand; but it shall not come near me. Onlywith my eyes shall I look and see the rewardof the wicked. Because I have made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the Most High, mydwelling place, no evil shall befall me, norshall any plague come near my dwelling;for He shall give His angels charge overme to keep me in all my ways. In theirhands they shall bear me up lest I dash myfoot against a stone. I shall tread upon thelion and the cobra, the young lion and theserpent I shall trample underfoot. Because Ihave set my love upon the Lord, therefore Hewill deliver me. He will set me on high be10

cause I have known His name. I shall callupon Him and He will answer me. He will bewith me in trouble. He will deliver me andhonor me. With long life He will satisfy meand show me His salvation.
