TheMARCH 2022Vol. 64 No. 3FROM THE PASTORMarch in Oxford, Mississippi, usually welcomes the beginningof spring. Spring sports are underway, spring break beckons. Theseasonal change from winter to spring is welcomed.March is also a month of preparation for Easter. Holy Week and Easterare not until April but for Christians around the world, only one week, nor one day is sufficient to examine the vital events of Easter.FBC is making a resource available to you called TRANSFORMED.Transformed is a daily devotional that guides you through forty daysof preparation for Easter beginning on Wednesday, March 2. The devotional guide iswritten by Jim Denison. Jim is a pastor, teacher, and CEO of Denison Ministries. Hewrites ‘The Daily Article,” A weekly email that comments on current issues through abiblical lens. (www.denisonforum.org) I think you will find this resource helpful as afocus of Easter preparation. The resurrection of Jesus on the first Easter Sunday transformedeverything. Think about a few ways Easter transforms: Easter transforms our understanding of love. (Romans 5:8) Easter transforms our way of understanding forgiveness.(Colossians 1:13-14) Easter transforms our understanding of death and lifein heaven. (1 Corinthians 15) Easter transforms our understanding of God’spriorities. (Matthew 28:18-20)Yes, the story of Easter is familiar, but it never growsold or loses its transforming power. Let’s give ourfocus to how God’s Spirit may do His work in us aswe prepare to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord.I’ll see you in church on Sunday,Don800VanBuren662.234.3Ave.,Oxfo515 rd MconnfbcoS 38ect@xford655gotofirst.o@fbcoxfrg ordgotofirst.ofirstbrgaptistoxfordTransformed Guide begins March 2.Prayer books will be available online (gotofirst.org)and in the Atrium.800 Van Buren Ave., Oxford MS 38655662.234.3515 connect@gotofirst.org gotofirst.orgfbcoxford@fbcoxfordfirstbaptistoxford
