You can alsodownload the AAA MobileApp and request serviceusing your smart phone.AAA Emergency RoadService must not be mistaken for maintenance orrepair service. The Club willpay for one tow per disablement. The person namedon the membership cardis entitled to AAA serviceon any eligible vehicle heor she is in at the time ofbreakdown. Service at Clubexpense is not providedto non-members using themember’s vehicle whetheror not they reside in thesame household. Associatememberships are availablefor qualified persons inthose situations.It is expected that themember will be with thedisabled vehicle at the timeservice is provided. TheClub reserves the right torequest identification, suchas a driver’s license inaddition to a valid membership card, prior to providingservice.Eligible VehiclesVehicles must havecurrent registration/platesand be insured to receiveservices. Vehicles withdealer plate and/or transporttags are not eligible for anyservices.AAA will provide Serviceto: All four wheeled motordriven vehicles of thepassenger, pleasure orrecreational type.

Rented vehicles with theexception of taxi andthose with livery plates. All four wheeledunloaded pickup trucks,service bodies etc. Noplows or ladder racks. All four wheeledunloaded vans and boxtrucks. All four wheeledmotorized/driveablecampers. All four wheeled vehiclestowing camping trailers.Members will be requiredto pay for towing of thetrailer.Towing of trailersincluding 5th wheelsrequire RV coverage. Unloaded Dual wheeledpickup trucks are eligiblefor all services excludingtire service. Dual wheeled campersand motor homes arecovered under Basic,Plus and Premier forjump starts, fuel deliveryand lockout serviceat the correspondingmembership level. Alltowing, winch outs andtire service requires RVcoverage. Club reserves the right toprovide one service call/tow per breakdown. Club reserves the rightto deny service froma repair shop that iscapable of fixing vehicleregardless of the reason.Emergency RoadService GuidelinesRules pertainingto membership inAAA Hudson Valley:Mechanical AdjustmentsMinor/temporary adjustments will be made in anattempt to get your vehicleto operate under its ownpower. Members shouldfollow up with a repair shopor mechanic.Battery ServiceA jumpstart will be provided in an attempt to startyour vehicle. In some areas,battery testing and replacement may be available. Atrained specialist may testthe battery and the vehicle'scharging system at no costto the member. If the batteryneeds to be replaced, themember can request topurchase one, and the technician will install one on thespot. Battery ReplacementService vehicles carry mostbatteries that will properlyfit approximately 90 percentof all cars, SUVs and lighttrucks on the road. If batteryservice is not available inyour area, a service technician will attempt a jumpstart to get your vehicleoperable or provide towingservice to a repair facility ofyour choice. During extremeweather conditions, batterytesting and/or replacementmay not be available.Flat TireIf your vehicle has aflat tire, we can inflate andinstall your spare as atemporary solution. AAA isnot responsible for vehicledamage caused by sparetire use. If no usable spareis available, the vehicle willbe towed in accordancewith the towing provisionof your membership. Youmay also choose to havea flat tire repaired as atemporary solution at yourown expense. Payment willbe due to the respondingservice provider at the timeof repair. It is the member’sresponsibility to have allproper tools and keys forreleasing the spare tire andlocking lug nuts.7

Fuel DeliveryA limited supply of fuelwill be delivered to your disabled vehicle to enable youto reach the nearest servicestation. Specific brandsor octane ratings cannotbe promised. You will becharged the current pumpprice for the fuel under basiclevel membership.AAA Plus and Plus RV and higher will provide alimited supply of fuel at nocharge to the member; itdoes not include delivery orfree fuel for use in portableonboard generators, anytype of boat engine, snowmobile or a jet ski.Lockout/Locksmith ServiceIf keys are locked insidethe vehicle, service willbe sent to gain entrance.If the key that operatesor provides access to thepassenger compartment ofthe vehicle is lost, broken orthe service provider cannotgain entry, the Club shallprovide locksmith service upto 50 for basic and 100 forplus. If necessary, the Clubwill provide tow service.Once the vehicle is at therepair facility, the member isresponsible for the cost ofparts and labor.Extricating/WinchingYour vehicle will be extricated/winched when it canbe safely reached from anormally traveled, established thoroughfare. Onetechnician and one servicevehicle will be provided atAAA’s expense. If specialequipment, additionalmanpower or vehicles arerequired, the associatedcosts must be paid for bymember at the time of service, at the prevailing commercial rate. Extended AAAPlus coverage includesdelivery of service, by asecond truck and/or opera8tor, for an additional onehour at the scene of the disablement. Vehicle RecoveryService is not covered underEmergency Road Service.Towing ServicesWhen your vehicle cannotbe safely driven after any ofthese emergency services,your vehicle can be towed toa place of your choosing, upto three miles from the pointof disablement at no charge.Should you choose to haveyour vehicle towed beyondthree miles from the point ofpick up, a per-mile chargewill apply, payable to theresponding service providerby the member.AAA Plus provides fortowing of eligible vehicles toany destination within 100miles of the breakdown.Towing beyond 100 miles, aper-mile charge will apply,payable to the responding service provider bythe member at the time ofservice.Only one tow per breakdown will be covered underAAA. Members may not "piggyback" or use two servicecalls to reach a destination.Towing ordered by policeor any other proper entity forvehicles illegally parked orabandoned is not coveredby AAA.AAA shall render reciprocal services to affiliatedclub members, provided themember presents a validmembership card.Bicycle ServiceBicycle service is includedin all membership levels atno expense to you. Towingmileage is based on yourlevel of membership. Abicycle tow will count as oneof your four roadside callsfor the year.Member must be presentat the time of service andhave a valid AAA card.Bicycle service applies to all

two-wheeled bicycles including rentals and tandemtrailers pulled by a bike.Bicycle service is limitedto transporting the disabledbike to your residence orrepair shop of your choosing. Mechanical repairs notcovered, including bicyclelock and flat tire service.Service is provided onlyalong a normally traveledroad or street.Bicycle coverage is available in AAA Hudson Valleyterritory only and is noteligible for reimbursement.MotorcycleFor members with aneligible vehicle that mayalso drive a motorcycle,Plus Motorcycle offersfuel delivery and towingof up to 100 miles for yourmotorcycle. For your othereligible vehicles, the otherapplicable services (tire,lockout, etc) apply.RV CoveragePlus RV and Premier RVplans offer towing coveragefor camping trailers, fifthwheels, motorhomes andboat trailers. At the Plus RVlevel, members receive upto 100 miles towing OR four(4) hours for heavy dutyequipment. After that a permile service fee applies.At the Premier RV level,members receive up to 200miles towing (one call) OReight (8) hours for heavyduty equipment (one call),all remaining calls up to100 miles, after that a permile service fee applies.Fuel delivery, lockout andjumpstarting for thesevehicles is included on alllevels of membership.Excessive Use/ServiceCall InformationIn fairness to all members, Emergency RoadService is not to be usedas a substitute for propervehicle maintenance.Each AAA Hudson Valleymember is entitled to four(4) emergency road servicecalls within their membership year. In accordancewith this policy the Clubreserves the right to discontinue a membership. Theclub may also downgrade amembership to Basicservice only.LimitationsAAA service is designedto render assistance duringroad service emergencies.Service will be renderedwhen the member is withthe vehicle. It is not practicalfor service technicians tosearch for a vehicle’s ownernor are they authorized todo so.Members must presenta valid membership card toreceive service. The serviceprovider may also ask for aphoto ID.Service does not includethe cost of parts or laborto complete repairs. Suchrepair costs are the vehicleowner’s responsibility. AAAcannot guarantee the availability of repair service afterregular business hours or onweekends and holidays.Service technicians arerequired to exercise caution and judgment whenservicing, extricating ortowing a vehicle. If theservice provider deems thatunavoidable damage mayoccur, the member may berequired to sign a liabilityrelease, or waiver absolvingAAA and the provider fromsuch damage.AAA Emergency RoadService is designed toremove a member’s vehiclefrom the road and get it toa safe place where repairscan be completed.Towing service isintended for personal,non-commercial use and isonly provided for a covered9

vehicle disablement. AAAHudson Valley will not providetow service for the purpose oftransporting vehicles due toa purchase, sale, renovation,auction transaction, car showexhibition, charitable donation, relocation or any othersimilar situation. Such towsare considered “conveniencetows” and are not coveredemergency roadside assistance services.AAA cannot guaranteethat service will always beavailable in all areas andunder all circumstances. Forexample, severe weather/state of emergency maycause unavoidable delaysand service limitations, eventhough all involved are doingtheir best. In such cases,service will be prioritized tostranded members first.Towing is by far the mosttime consuming service AAAHudson Valley provides andmay be temporarily suspended to avoid excessivedelays to members waiting forservices. We appreciate yourpatience and understandingduring these emergencies.Service Not IncludedThese are services NOTincluded at AAA’s expense: Service on vehicle withoutkeys (except when keysare lost or broken – seeLockout-Service) Service on unattendedvehicles Service by appointment Members cannot be pickedup and taken to theirvehicle Service on nonregisteredor unplated vehicles Service on nonmaintained roadways Service on private orseasonal roadways. Service to vehicles thathave not been cleared ofsnow and/or ice.10 Service in areas where,because of snow, ice, mudor high water, the servicetruck cannot enter and/orleave safely. Installation or the removalof chains, plows or snowtires Service to vehicles withplow attached Towing to or from animpound lot or salvage yard Service to vehicles withlivery plates such as taxicabs and limousines Towing, tire change orextrication for heavilyloaded or modifiedvehicles. Service to a watercraft,equipment, utility, orlivestock trailer Towing a vehicle from arepair facility where repairscan be performed. Removal of a vehicle froma closed repair facility. Service to a vehiclethat was driven into anarea such as vacantlots, back, front or sideyards, beaches, fields orbarricaded street. Towing of camping orboat trailers attached to acovered vehicle (exceptunder Plus RV Rider).The Club reserves theright to change the servicepolicies and procedureswithout notice.ReimbursementsIf AAA Road Service isnot available and you obtainservice from another entityyou may be entitled toreimbursement consistentwith AAA contract rates. (Thiswill generally not equal yourprivate garage charge). Sometoll roads provide their ownemergency road services andwill not permit AAA to come toyour assistance. In some ofthese cases, your membership card will be accepted inlieu of payment. All reimbursement forms must be receivedwithin 30 days of service and

must include the ORIGINALpaid receipt in the member'sname to be eligible for reimbursement consideration. Youmust make every effort tocontact AAA to request service through AAA RoadsideAssistance first. If AAA wasnot called, Reimbursementwill be disallowed.Reimbursements will not bemade in cases involving violation of laws including parking,snow routes, driving under theinfluence, failure to appearfor violations, driving on asuspended/revoked driver'slicense, failure to presentevidence of insurance, illegaluse or falsification of licenseor registration, engaging ina felony, attempting to eludepolice.If a police ordered tow isdeemed reimbursable, it willbe at the AAA contract rate.AAA’s goal is to provide youwith extraordinary customerservice. If themember fails to make sucha loss good, collectionprocedures will be institutedand the membership maybe subject to cancellation.11
