UC Tuition allows you and yourfamily to plan without worrying about tuitionincreases from year to year.Your tuition stays at the same amount untilyou graduate (up to six academic years).Covers degree-seeking freshmen andtransfer undergraduates by yearly cohorts.Includes tuition and other required systemwide fees.Campus based fees have a separate processand can vary from year to year.For graduate students, tuition will be adjustedannually based on inflation, remainingessentially flat.Additional Student Benefits:UC Tuition supports funding for financialaid programs.Funds will improve overall student experienceby reducing class sizes, updating facilities, andenhancing student support services.EXPECTED FAMILYCONTRIBUTION APPEALSWe’re always mindful of your future, soif financial changes become a roadblock,we’re ready to help.You can request an Expected FamilyContribution Appeal (EFC) if:Your family is experiencing extenuatingfinancial circumstances.Your family’s current income becomessubstantially less since submitting yourFAFSA or California Dream Act Application.This will allow you to provide a written statement and documentation of your circumstances.Our office reviews appeals and documentation,and makes appropriate adjustments to financialaid offers when possible. We are only able todisburse federal or state aid after verificationis complete. If you’re selected, verification willappear as a financial aid task in CalCentral.HOW AID WORKSEverything you need to manage your financial aidis under the “My Finances” section in CalCentral.Check your account regularly to stay currentwith your finances and updated balance.Disbursements & RefundsWe have you covered with easy access to yourfunds.Aid begins disbursing around ten days beforethe start of a term.Funds will first pay your bill directly onCalCentral.If your aid covers less than your bill, you will beresponsible for paying the remaining balance.If your aid covers more than your bill (andyour term balance is paid in full), you willreceive a refund.Aid will apply to the oldest charges in thecurrent or prior term of the same academicyear first, but does not apply to prior year orfuture charges.Be sure to sign up for Direct Deposit throughCalCentral for quick and easy deposits ofrefunds.We want to help you plan and discover the financialavenues available to you.
