After you finish working inside thecomputer, replace all covers, panels, and screws before connecting tothe power source.CAUTION: To avoid damaging the computer, make sure that the worksurface is flat and clean.CAUTION: To avoid damaging the components and cards, handlethem by their edges and avoid touching pins and contacts.CAUTION: Only a certified service technician is authorized to removethe computer cover and access any of the components inside thecomputer. See the safety instructions for complete information aboutsafety precautions, working inside your computer, and protectingagainst electrostatic discharge.CAUTION: Before touching anything inside your computer, groundyourself by touching an unpainted metal surface, such as the metal atthe back of the computer. While you work, periodically touch anunpainted metal surface to dissipate static electricity, which couldharm internal components.CAUTION: When you disconnect a cable, pull on its connector or onits pull-tab, not on the cable itself. Some cables have connectors withlocking tabs or thumb-screws that you must disengage beforedisconnecting the cable. When disconnecting cables, keep themevenly aligned to avoid bending any connector pins. When connectingcables, make sure that the ports and connectors are correctly orientedand aligned.CAUTION: To disconnect a network cable, first unplug the cable fromyour computer and then unplug the cable from the network device.CAUTION: Press and eject any installed card from the media-cardreader.Recommended ToolsThe procedures in this document may require the following tools: Philips screwdriver Plastic scribe11
