Does prayer affect plant seeds?In a study on germinating seeds done by Dr.Franklin Loehr, a Presbyterian ministerand scientist, the objective was to see in acontrolled experiment what effect prayerhad over living and seemingly non-livingmatter. In one experiment they took threepans of various types of seeds. One wasthe control pan. One pan received positiveprayer, and the other received negativeprayer. Time after time, the resultsindicated that prayer helped speedgermination and produced more vigorousplants. Prayers of negation actually haltedgermination in some plants andsuppressed growth in others. In another experiment two bottles of springwater were purchased. One container wasused as a control, receiving no prayer; agroup prayed for the second. The waterwas then used on pans of corn seedslayered in cotton, with one pan receivingthe prayer water and the other receivingthe control water. The pan receiving theprayer water sprouted a day earlier thanseeds in the other pan. Whenresearchers examined the water used by thesetwo subjects, they found that the waterconditioned by positive intention from the healerwas substantially different in its molecularstructure than water used without positive intentby the depressed psychotic. Somehow the beliefsystems of these two men have changed theprofile of the material world.
