DO NOT let othersinstall or use the booster seat unless theyunderstand how to use it. FAILURE TO PROPERLY USE THISBOOSTER SEAT INCREASES THE RISK OFSERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH IN A SHARPTURN, SUDDEN STOP OR CRASH. Yourchild can be injured in a vehicle even if you arenot in a crash. Sudden braking and sharp turns caninjure your child if the booster seat is not properlyinstalled or if your child is not properly secured inthe booster seat.7
According to accident statistics, CHILDRENARE SAFER WHEN PROPERLYRESTRAINED IN REAR VEHICLESEATING POSITIONS, RATHER THANFRONT SEATING POSITIONS. For a vehiclewith a front passenger air bag, refer to yourvehicle owner¶s manual as well as theseinstructions for booster seat installation. NEVER LEAVE YOUR CHILDUNATTENDED. NEVER LEAVE A BOOSTER SEATUNSECURED IN YOUR VEHICLE. Anunsecured booster seat can be thrown around andmay injure occupants in a sharp turn, suddenstop or crash. Remove it or make sure that it issecurely belted in the vehicle. REPLACE THE BOOSTER SEAT AFTERAN ACCIDENT OF ANY KIND. An accidentcan cause damage to the booster seat that youcannot see. DO NOT MODIFY YOUR BOOSTER SEATor use any accessories or parts supplied by othermanufacturers. NEVER USE BOOSTER SEAT IF IT HASDAMAGED OR MISSING PARTS. DO NOTuse a cut, frayed or damaged vehicle seat belt.8
THE BOOSTER SEAT CAN BECOME VERYHOT IF LEFT IN THE SUN. Contact with theseparts can burn your child¶s skin. Always touch thesurface of any metal or plastic parts beforeputting your child in the booster seat. THIS CHILD RESTRAINT CONFORMSto all applicable Federal Motor Vehicle SafetyStandards and is certified for use in motorvehicles. This restraint is NOT certified for use inaircraft because there is no shoulder belt available. NEVER GIVE THIS BOOSTER SEAT tosomeone else without also giving them thismanual. NEVER USE A SECOND-HAND BOOSTERSEAT or a booster seat whose history you do notknow. NEVER USE THIS BOOSTER SEAT withoutthe armrests attached to the base. DO NOT USE BOOSTER SEAT without seatpad.9
Assembling the Booster SeatStep 1.1Insert armrest into baseas shown until buttonssnap into slots on side ofbase 1 .SNAP!Step 2.Select the desiredarmrest height for yourchild, then insert theheight adjustmentscrew 2 and tighten.Repeat for otherarmrest.2Step 3.To adjust armrests,remove screw and press 3in button on side ofbase as shown to raiseor lower 3 . Reinsertscrew and tighten.CHECK to make surearmrests are securelyattached by pulling upon them.10
Step 4.Slip armrest covers(on certain models)onto armrests as shown.Step 5.Your Graco booster seatis now ready to use.See page 33, “SecuringChild in Vehiclewith Shoulder BeltPositioning Clip”.FOR MODELS with aback support continueon to Step 6.11
Assembling the Back Support(on certain models)Step 6.On certain models, your lower back support pad maynot be attached to the back support. Place lower backsupport pad around edges of support as shown. Thenfasten lower elastic strap to the metal hook on the otherside of the seat pad. If your lower back support pad isalready attached go to Step 6a.Step 6a.Flip head support and lower back support overas shown 1 .112
Step 7.Squeeze red adjustment button and slide two piecestogether until they snap into place 2 .CHECK to make sure two pieces are securely snappedtogether by pulling on them.2SNAP!Step 8.Attach elastic strap to metal hook on other side ofseat pad as shown 3 . If your elastic strap is alreadyattached you can skip to Step 9.313
Step 9.Flip seat over and insert the fabric from the headsupport underneath the fabric on the lower back supportas shown 4 .To make insertion of fabric easier, slide the upper andlower back pieces apart by squeezing the red adjustmentbutton.414
Step 10.Attach backrest to base. “U”-shaped hooks on bottomof backrest will interlock with bars on base 5 .Make sure that no part of the seat covering interfereswhen attaching backrest to the base.515
Step 11.Once backrest is securely attached to the base, pushbackrest up as shown 6 .616
Step 12.Your Graco boosterseat is now ready to use.See page 23-30, “Usingyour Graco Booster Seat”and “Securing Your Childin Vehicle”.17
Weight and Height LimitsFAILURE TO USE booster seat in a mannerappropriate for your child¶s size may increase therisk of serious injury or death.To use this Graco booster seat, your child MUSTmeet ALL of the following requirements:With back support(approximately 3 to 10 years old) : weigh between 30 and 100 lbs.(mass between 13.6 and 45 kg), and are between 38 and 57 inches (96 and 145 cm)in height, and1 the shoulder belt MUST lieacross child¶s shoulders in redzone as shown in 1 and thelap portion is positioned lowon the childs hips, and the child¶s ears are below topof booster seat. If tops of earsare above top of seat, yourchild is too large for thebooster seat18
Without back support(approximately 4 to 10 years old) : weigh between 40 and 100 lbs.(mass between 18 and 45 kg), and are between 40 and 57 inches(101 and 145 cm) in height, and2 the shoulder belt MUSTlie across child¶s shouldersin red zone as shown in 2and the lap portion is positionedlow on the childs hips, and when sitting on the boosterseat, your child¶s ears arebelow the top of the vehicleseat cushion / head rest.Your Graco booster seat can beused with or without the backsupport (on certain models) aslong as the above requirements are met.19
Vehicle Seat Location RequirementsIMPROPER PLACEMENT OF THEBOOSTER SEAT INCREASES THE RISK OFSERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. Some seatingpositions in your vehicle may NOT be safe for thisbooster seat. Some vehicles do not have any seatingpositions that can be used safely with the boosterseat. If you are not sure where to place the boosterseat in your vehicle, consult your vehicle owner¶smanual or call Graco Children¶s Products Inc., at1-800-345-4109. Children are safer when properly restrained inrear vehicle seating positions. Whenever possiblesecure the Graco booster seat in the center positionof the seat directly behind the front seats. However,this position is often equipped with a lap belt onlyand cannot be used. The vehicle seat MUST face forward.20
Vehicle Seat Belt RequirementsMANY SEAT BELT SYSTEMS ARE NOTSAFE TO USE WITH THE BOOSTER SEAT.Pay careful attention to these systems; some ofthe seat belts that are NOT safe to use look verymuch like seat belts that are safe to use. If youare unsure, consult your vehicle owner¶s manualor call Graco Children¶s Products Inc.,at 1-800-345-4109.SAFE Vehicle Seat Belt SystemONLY A LAP/SHOULDERBELT SYSTEM CANBE USED WITH THISBOOSTER SEAT, IFthe seat location meetsall other requirementsof these instructionsand those in your vehicleowner¶s manual.21
UNSAFE Vehicle Seat Belt SystemsDO NOT USE ANYOF THE FOLLOWINGVEHICLE BELTSYSTEMS. NEVER use alap-only belt. NEVER use aPassive Restraint Lap or Shoulder BeltMounted on Door NEVER use aPassive Restraint Lap Belt with MotorizedShoulder BeltNEVER use vehiclebelts that are attached tothe door in any way orthat move along a trackto automaticallysurround the passengerwhen the door is closed.22
Using your Graco Booster SeatFAILURE TO PROPERLY SECURE YOURCHILD AND THE BOOSTER SEAT IN YOURVEHICLE INCREASES THE RISK OFSERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH IN THEEVENT OF A SHARP TURN, SUDDEN STOPOR CRASH.WARNING: Use only1the vehicle¶s lap andshoulder belt systemwhen restraining the childin this booster seat 1 .2NEVER use a vehiclelap-only belt across frontof child 2 .23
3Vehicle belts MUST lieflat against child andMUST not be twisted.DO NOT use shoulderbelt loose or positionedunder child¶s arm 3 .DO NOT position vehicle 4belt over top of thearmrests 4 . It must passunderneath the armrests.Make sure vehicle beltis NOT twisted.Lap portion oflap/shoulder belt MUSTbe low and snug on hips,just touching thighs.DO NOT allow childto slide down in boosterseat 5 .5If child will not keepvehicle restraint properlypositioned, DO NOTuse this booster seat.Use a different childrestraint system.24

Booster Seat PositionsYour booster seat has two positions as shown.1 Upright2 ReclinedThe back of the boosterseat MUST fit tightagainst the vehicle seatback as shown in 3 ineither the first or secondposition.3DO NOT USEbooster seat beyondreclined position 2 .26
Securing Your Child in Vehicle1. Place booster seat firmly against the back of aforward-facing vehicle seat equipped with a lap/shoulder belt only 1 .2. Have your child sit in booster seat with their backflat against back of booster seat.127
3. Position shoulder belt through the shoulder beltguide shown in 2 , NOT as shown in 3 . Fastenbuckle and pull up on the shoulder belt to tighten.23INCORRECTCORRECT28

To ensure the correct4head support height isobtained, the bottom ofthe headrest SHOULDbe even with the topof child¶s shoulders asshown in 4 and theshoulder belt must bepositioned in the redzone as shown in 5 .The lap belt portionMUST pass underthe armrests and bepositioned low on thehips.529CORRECT

Adjusting the Head SupportBEFORE adjusting thehead support height, haveyour child lean forwardslightly.Squeeze the redadjustment button ontop of seat and pull backsupport up until it snapsinto one of the 6 heightpositions.Back of seatTo lower, squeeze redadjustment button andpush down.CHECK to make sure it issecurely snapped into oneof the 6 height positions bypulling up on head support.31
Removing the Back Support(on certain models)to Use as Backless BoosterTo use booster seat without back support:Remove back supportas shown.“U”-shapedhooks on bottomof back supportare interlockedwith bars onbase. Lift backsupport off base.32
Securing Child in Vehicle withShoulder Belt Positioning ClipThe shoulder belt MUST lieacross child¶s shoulders inred zone as shown.If shoulder belt lies outsidethis zone, the shoulder beltpositioning clip MUST beused.To attach clip to booster seat:1. The shoulder belt positioning clip MUST beattached onto the horizontal bar in the center of thebase. Insert the loop end of strap around horizontal baron rear of seat as shown in 1 .133
2. Pass the clip and strap through the loop end as shownin 2 and pull strap up 3 .NOTE: Free end of strap should face front of seat.2334
3. Slide the vehicle shoulder belt onto the clip asshown in 4 and pull strap down to tighten clipagainst child¶s shoulder.The lap belt portion MUST pass underthe armrests and be positioned low on the hips.The belt MUST NOT be twisted.4Shoulder beltpositioning clip35

Additional InformationAirplane UseThis restraint is not certified for aircraft use becausethere are no shoulder belts available in an aircraft.CupholdersCupholders are included on both sides of the seat.37
Instruction Sheet StorageYour instruction sheet can stored on the bottom ofthe seat as shown.Care and Maintenance CONTINUOUS USE OF BOOSTER SEATMAY CAUSE DAMAGE TO VEHICLE SEAT.Use a booster seat mat, towel or thin blanket toprotect upholstery. METAL AND PLASTIC PARTS: clean withmild soap and cool water. No bleach or detergents.38
To Remove Seat Cover1. Remove elastic loops and hooks from seat asshown 1 .1On some models, there is a plastic clip 2 in thefront of the seat pad on the base that will need tobe removed before washing.22. Machine wash cover in cold water on delicatecycle and drip-dry. DO NOT USE BLEACH.3. To put the seat cover back on, reversepreceding instructions.39

Montar del asiento para niñosPaso 1.1Inserte el apoyabrazosen la base como se indicahasta que los botones setraben en las ranuras dela base lateral 1 .¡CLIC!Paso 2.Seleccione la alturadeseada del apoyabrazospara su niño, luegoinserte el tornillo de2ajuste de la altura2 y ajústelo. Repitael procedimiento enel otro apoyabrazos.Paso 3.Para ajustar elapoyabrazos, saquelos tornillos y oprima el3botón en el costado dela base como se indicapara subirlo o bajarlo 3 .Vuelva a insertar eltornillo y ajústelo.VERIFIQUE que losapoyabrazos están bienconectados, jalandolos mismos.10
Paso 4.Deslice las fundas delos apoyabrazos(en ciertos modelos)en los apoyabrazos,como se indica.Paso 5.Su asiento para niños deGraco ya está lista parausar. Montar el respaldo(en ciertos modelos)Paso 6.En ciertos modelos, es posible que laalmohadilla inferior del respaldo no esté sujeta alrespaldo. Coloque la almohadilla inferior del respaldoalrededor de los bordes de apoyo, como indica lafigura.
