Tuesday Falmouth ride with 6 ridersIMPORTANTCLUB JERSEYUPDATEOur club jersey store is now open through Primal. We have men's and women'sshort sleeve jerseys ( 70) and thermal arm warmers ( 35) available. The store willhave images of the jerseys and size charts to choose from. I find sizes may run onesize too small. I have fit kits so you can try on men's or women's jerseys to verifyyour size. There are size charts for arm warmers on the web site but I don't havethem with the fit kits. To enter the online store click on this 07aThe shipping address is to CBBC at my home address (23 Saugus St., Portland,ME 04103). Make sure this is where it is shipped to for free (bulk) shipping. Onlycredit card payments available. York Beach Rideand CookoutSundaySeptember 19This Sunday, September 19th will be our York beach ride, followed by a cookout.We will be meeting at 69 Old Post Road in York (wheels down at 10:00 am). Therewill be two ride options. I will fine tune the routes on Thursday after I have a chanceto scope out any road construction in the area that may affect our rides. The longride will be 38 miles, and will go into New Castle, New Hampshire, with a coffeestop in Portsmouth. The shorter ride will be 24 miles, and will take you to Fort.McClary State Park in Kittery. Riders on the shorter ride will have the option toexplore the Park (if they so desire) or just head back to the homestead to relax. Bothrides will take us to Nubble Light (for a nice photo shoot), and we will split off atFort McClary. Othersare welcome to bring a side to share. The mission of Portland WheelersFund Raising Event ridesis Outdoor Adapted Biking Fun!Bike 4 Trikes 2021 is a month-long virtual bike ride with pop-up organized rides.Ride anytime, anywhere in the world, on any kind of cycle. Ride a bicycle along therocky coast of Maine or a Peloton in your basement, ride with friends, ride with yourclub, ride in races, or just ride around the block. B4T is a peer-to-peer fund raisingevent. There is no minimum fundraising requirement. There are no mileage requirements. All donations will go directly to supporting the mission of PortlandWheelers. A small registration fee of 20 goes to offset the administrative cost ofthe events and fundraising.Log miles for B4T while riding with your club, friends, family, or on a solitary ride.Register to ride – register to ride and raise funds for Portland WheelersSupport a rider – make a donation to a rider’s fund raising effortStart or join a team – have a friendly competition with other teamsWhile B4T is a virtual event it will still include small pop-up organized liverides throughout the month. You can join other B4T riders on local road and offroad rides. All rides are free to B4T participants, organized rides with ride leaderand sweep, and tasty treats provided. No set pace.Determined by slowest pace called for by any individual attendee that week, downto about 12-13 mph average ( 15-16 mph flat ground cruising).
