Studentsenrolled in the program fee option will receive a Certificate of Attendance upon the successful completion of the course.Course credits will not appear on a transcript and will not be transferable to other universities. Undergraduate studentsconsidering this option are strongly encouraged to discuss this decision with their academic advisor prior to applying.TO APPLY, PLEASE SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING: A completed application form.Statement of Purpose (not to exceed one typewritten page).One letter of recommendation from a college or university professor or high school teacher or principal.One language report from a language instructor, if you have taken courses outside of UM in the selected language.ALL Students A placement exam is required of all students with prior knowledge of the selected language. However, if you havealready completed coursework in the selected language at UM, you do not need to take the placement exam. If youhave already taken the UM placement exam at any time in the past, you cannot take the placement exam again. Examinformation will be included in the letter of admission.For placement exam results, consult with an advisor in your home school or contact the RLL Department.SLI applicants will be notified of their admission status after the open enrollment period ends on April 23, 2020.The Program fee option is available for all of the Romance language courses as room permits. Spanish and Frenchlanguage courses, particularly the 8 credit intensive courses, may not always have room for program fee students. UMstudents who need these languages are encouraged to register for their desired courses directly through Wolverine Accessin order to secure a spot.

This is the only form of payment we can accept underthe current circumstances. Details about how to make your credit card payment will beincluded in your acceptance communication.Program Fees are not paid through Student Accounts or UM-Sponsors. Please note it is the responsibility of the student to ensure that payment is made. If a third party will be covering the cost of the program fee it is the responsibility of the student to ensure that payments are made in a timely manner.All other questions should be directed to the language department.
