Diagnostic & TherapeuticBronchoscopyMedical ThoracoscopyPercutaneous TracheostomyApril 10-13, 2019Course Director:Carla Lamb, MDAssociate Course Directors:Ghazwan Acash, MD;Sara Shadchehr, DOCourse AdministrativeCoordinator:Natalie MelendezProgram Overview & Course ObjectivesThis post-graduate course is designed for experienced thoracicendoscopists and will cover indications, contraindications,and clinical applications of various procedures in the field ofinterventional pulmonology including: rigid bronchoscopy, laserbronchoscopy, endobronchial stent insertion, transbronchial needleaspiration, percutaneous dilatational tracheostomy, cryotherapy,electrocautery, photodynamic therapy and medical thoracoscopy.Lung cancer detection with endobronchial ultrasound will also beaddressed. Newer bronchoscopic therapies for emphysema andasthma and newer diagnostic methods for sampling nodules willalso be discussed. Course format will include lectures, discussionsessions, video instruction and hands-on laboratory sessions.The goal of the course is to acquaint the attendee with the aboveprocedures and the equipment required to perform the procedures.Course InformationBy the conclusion of this activity attendees should be able to:Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, Office ofContinuing Medical Education .
