This program is designed to help you live an allaround healthy lifestyle. We will use a point system that will not be based on weight loss. You can getpoints by drinking 64 ounces of water each day, getting 8 hours or sleep, and other daily changes tohelp you start or continue being healthy before the holidays. This challenge will also have fun dailyactivities, such as squats and lunges along with paying it forward and going on walks at the TigerTrail. There will also be ways to win prizes, gain a new support system within our private Facebookgroup, and learn new ways to live a healthy lifestyle. This challenge is a team challenge to help you maintain support along the way. You must have at least2 members but there is no limit on how many are on your team. Each week, the team captain will beexpected to report your team points. We will average the points based on how many are on your team,so just because you have 10 people on your team, doesn’t mean you will automatically have the mostpoints in the challenge. MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: CODY SWARTZMeet Cody Swartz, one of the Fitness Center’s hardest working and most dedicated members. Hisworkout’s look grueling, but interesting. He may seem completely “in the zone” when he is working-out butis always happy to answer any questions. It is clear he is passionate about fitness.Cody says he first became interested in fitness around the age of 13 when his uncle started working out.His journey began with a bench press of a mere 40 pounds. Trust me when I say that is nowhere close towhat he benches now, but as he puts it, “you gotta start somewhere”. A lot of trial and error was involvedin the beginning. He had to learn what worked best for him. He also found YouTube helpful early on.Cody dedicates 4 to 5 days per week to his fitness regimen and works out at least 2 hours each time. Hespends the majority of his time focusing on strength training. He does not run more than he has to anddefinitely prefers lifting weights over cardio training.Fitness has taught him discipline as well as patience. He has learned that he cannot give up when it feelstough. Through pain (soreness) there is growth. Cody says you get what you put into it. He feels betterstaying fit and has more self-confidence. He also finds exercise is a great way to blow off steam. He strivesto continue to better himself daily and set examples for the younger generation who want to grow up bigand strong one day.Cody enjoys helping others with their fitness journey and is currently finishing up his Personal TrainingCertification through ISSA. He reminds anyone who finds themselves discouraged that we all startsomewhere. Fitness is a journey and success will not happen overnight. He does try to eat healthy but notesthat it can be challenging with a busy schedule. Avoiding junk food is his best advice.A comparison picture to show some of thetransformation Cody has been able to achievethrough dedication and hard work.Follow us on Facebook under Healthy Dent County Fitness Center to stay up to date.
