The blind man fell in love with Jesus, embarked upon thislife-saving adventure to reach him and achieved a goalmany have only remotely thought possible. This is mercy inaction. No matter how far we stray or how blind we becomeGod patiently waits to console us, guide us, and heal us. Allwe need to do is desire Him with all our heart.Stewardship Stewardship is what we do after we say “WE BELIEVE!” Our monetary response last week 6,091.75 Adults 5,033.00 Visitors 435.00 Fuel 290.00 Parish Improvement 265.00 Votive 68.75 St. Theresa’s - AuTrain . 285.00Adults 165.00 Visitors 10.00 Fuel 110.00 . Details and registration information can befound at: aquinas.edu/openhouse.En Theos I have a friend who receives communion, but who I knowfor a fact is in a state of mortal sin. Should I tell our priest? Is it my responsibility to say something? While we may always want to do what is best for ourfriends and family members, we have a responsibility torespect their privacy and their conscience. In its reflectionson the Eighth Commandment (“You shall not bear falsewitness against your neighbor”), the Catechism of theCatholic Church states, “Respect for the reputation ofpersons forbids every attitude and word likely to causethem unjust injury. [One] becomes guilt: -of rash judgmentwho, even tacitly, assumes as true, without sufficientfoundation, the moral fault of a neighbor; -of detractionwho, without objectively valid reason, discloses another’sfaults and failings to persons who do not know them; ofcalumny who, by remarks contrary to the truth, harms thereputation of others and gives occasion for falsejudgments concerning them” (no. 2477).We will never truly know what is in a person’s mind, heart, and soul; only God knows those things. We should, ofcourse, take our concerns to God and entrust the personabout whom we are concerned to God’s grace and mercy. If we have concerns about the spiritual wellbeing ofsomeone with whom we are close, we should go to theperson themselves and talk about our fears and concerns.Unless it is a case of abuse or endangerment (which wehave a moral and even legal responsibility to report tothe appropriate authorities), we ultimately do not have thefreedom to share another’s persons faults or sins, howevergood we think our intentions might be.WISE MEN’S RETREAT DECEMBER 3-5, 2021Fortune Lake Bible Camp (Crystal Falls)The theme of the retreat will be “Back to the Basics: The BigThree: Regular Confession, Sunday Mass, Daily Prayer, illustrated with examples from the lives of the Saints.” Costwill be 150.00 payable to St. Albert the Great UniversityParish.Registration: Friday, November 5thGarden Area Community BuildingALL PAPER CARDSDon’t forget to bring your daubersDoors open at 5:30 p.m.Bingo begins at 7:00 p.m.Food & Refreshments availableSponsored by St. John the Baptist Catholic Church

This iswhy all works of charity spring from her. It is wellknown that the heart has two movements: systoleand diastole. Thus Mary is always performing thesetwo movements: absorbing grace from her most holySon, and pouring it forth on sinners. ³St. Anthony Mary Claret October 25 We can never sufficiently recommendthe saying of the rosary, not simply with the lips butwith the attention of the soul to the divine truths, with a heart filled with love and gratitude. ³Blessed John XXIII October 26 As the mother knows the needs betterthan the babe, so the Blessed Mother understandsour cries and worries and knows them better thanwe know ourselves. As the baby needs the doctor, sothe Blessed Mother knows we need her divine Son. ³Archbishop Fulton Sheen October 27 Behold the handmaid of the Lord. Beit done to me as you say. It is as if she were saying: Iam a painter’s canvas; let the almighty painter drawas he wishes and do as he pleases. ³Blessed Alfonso De Orozco October 28 Because of Mary’s singular cooperationwith the action of the Holy Spirit, the Church lovesto pray in communion with the Virgin Mary, tomagnify with her the great things the Lord has donefor her, and to entrust supplications and praises toher.Catechism of the Catholic Church, 2682 October 29 Blessed are you among women.Blessed, I say, because of the fullness of grace to bevenerated in you; blessed, because of the greatnessof the mercy to be bestowed by you; blessed, because of the weight of glory which is to beaccumulated in you.³St. Bonaventure October 30 Praise the Lord in his holy ones, saythe Scriptures. If our Lord is to be praised in thoseholy ones through whom he brings to being deeds ofpower and miracles, how much more is he t bepraised in her in whom he fashioned himself, who iswonderful beyond all wonders. ³St. Aelred Cycles of Faith30th Sunday in Ordinary TimeWhen we see God with true sincerity of heart and God passesus along our way, it is only then that we will be able to cry out,“Jesus, son of David, have pity on me!” We have to truly wantto be healed by, and in union with, God in order for us toreach out to him. If God is only an abstract idea, theory, orsomeone found in the pages of a book, there is no motivationfor a relationship and no desire to seek him. God needs to bereal in order for faith to be real. It’s all about the journey.St. Augustine reminds us that “to fall in love with God is thegreatest romance; to seek Him the greatest adventure; to findHim the greatest human achievement.” We strive after manythings and mercy is not always one of them. We think that wecan find fulfillment and healing in other things only to discoverthat we are still short and empty. From the moment humanbeings were created, God has been calling us and seeking us.He has been walking right beside the human story from theminute He first breathed life into the first human soul. Are weable to recognize God as He walks with us? At some point wehave to realize that there is only one way to satisfy thedeepest longings of the human heart and that is in relationshipwith our Creator. We are called to this.
