Asheville Mountains Lowcountry It’s said that altitude affects attitude, and the goodvibes coming from our highlands region are a positivetestament to that. From the Blue Ridge Parkway to theGreat Smokey Mountains, you’ll find gracious folks, agentle ease and an undeniable charm. The Lowcountry is comprised of the counties in the“lower”, or most southern, part of the state. It’s abounty for the senses – pungent, salty smells frompluff mud, the dark marsh soil left behind after thetide recedes; piercing chants from frogs and katydids;and welcome shade from live oak trees and theirshawls of Spanish moss.Neese Sausage, Fig and Goat Cheese PopoverMushroom Ravioli with Wild Herb ButterTomato PiePecan Cinnamon Bread puddingwith Cream Cheese IcingSeafood GumboUpstate South Carolina Region This region, comprising 10 counties in the northwestpart of the state, is prominent in a host of historicalgenres.
