A Biography of Dame Agatha Christie Agatha Miller was born September 15 1890 and died January 12 1976. In her lifetime, Christie wrote 79 novels. Popular for writing mystery novels, to this today, Christie is still nicknamedThe Queen of Crime. 1914 Christie married her first husband Archibald Christie, an officer of the RoyalFlying Corps. 1919 Christie gave birth to her first and only child, Rosalind. During WWI, Christie worked as a nurse for Red Cross learning much aboutpoisons, that she would use within her novels.

A Biography of Dame Agatha Christie 1928 Christie divorced her husband for infidelity. 1930 Christie married her second husband Max Malloman, anarcheologist. He was once quoted for saying ‘An archeologist is the besthusband a woman can have. The older she gets, the more interested he is in her.’ During WWI, Christie returned as a nurse. 1952 Christie claimed fame to the stage, with the production The Mousetrap , basedon a short story of hers, titled Three Blind Mice. Still running at the AmbassadorTheatre in London, this is the longest running theatrical performance in theworld.

In her lifetime, Christie wrote six romance novels, under the pseudonymMary Westmacott. Christie’s novels have been translated in 56 languages. Her novels have sold over 4 billion copies to this date. The only book to exceedher print is the Bible.

A Biography of Dame Agatha Christie Many of Christie’s novels have been translated into film, includingMurder on the Orient Express (1944) And Then There Were None (1945) andDeath on the Nile (1978) Two television series have been produced based on two of her mostwidely known detectives, Miss Marple & Poirot. 1939 And Then There Were None is published. This novel has inspiredboard games, video games, graphic comics, film, cartoon, stageproductions and has been the foundation for providing a formula formystery storytelling used by author and filmmakers .

And Then There Were None - Plot Ten different guests are invited to stay in a guest house on an island. Each guesthas killed at least one person in their own lives, but has never been convicted dueto the protection of the law. The guests are unaware of why they were invited. Each room contains a framed poem of Ten Little Indians. There is no way off of the island. One by one, each of the guests are murdered. The poem in each room suggestshow they are to be murdered.

And Then There Were None - SettingThe setting for the novel takes place on Indian Island; a privateand secluded island off the Devon Coast. Indian Island hasalways been a place of mystery and intrigue. Nobody knowswho owns the island; it is also a mystery.
