A Comprehensive BoardReview in Hematologyand Medical Oncology— A Virtual Live Streaming Course —GOALThe course is a 6-day comprehensive review of current standards andpractices in the management of patients with blood disorders andmalignancy. The course is designed to enable the participant toeffectively prepare for the American Board of Internal Medicinecertification and recertification examinations in Hematology andMedical Oncology. Advances in clinical pharmacology, moleculargenetics and risk assessment, and radiation oncology will be included.EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVESAt the conclusion of this educational activity, participants should beable to: Apply knowledge gained to prepare for the hematology and medicaloncology subspecialty and recertification examinations inhematology and medical oncology Utilize current standards of care for patients with cancer, blooddisorders and malignancies Demonstrate proficiency of knowledge in hematology and medicaloncology Incorporate recent advances in management of hematologic andoncologic patients; and Define molecular determinants of cancer risk and apply thisknowledge in practice.TARGET AUDIENCEThis program should be of interest to Physicians, Advanced PracticeProviders, APNs, and Nurses.EDUCATIONAL METHODS Lectures/Didactic Case-based Question-and-Answer Sessions (in board examinationformat) Virtual Live Streaming Course Canvas – an online course management systemEVALUATIONA course evaluation survey will provide participants with theopportunity to comment on the value of the program content to theirpractice decisions, performance improvement activities, or possibleimpact on patient health status. Participants will also have theopportunity to comment on any perceived commercial bias in thepresentations as well as to identify future educational topics.
