Cater to their energy levels anddifferent learning styles. Adjust the number of yoga posesdepending on the time available andthe ages, needs, and energy levels ofthe children. HOW TO PRACTICETHE YOGA POSES(Alphabetical Order)1. Camel Pose: Come to a kneelingposition with your toes either curledunder or flat on the ground. Lift yourhead, open your chest, squeeze yourshoulders, and place your palms onyour buttocks. Gently take your hipsforward while shifting your shouldersback, slowly arching your back. If it’scomfortable, take your hands to yourheels and relax your head. Imaginebeing a camel.2. Cat Pose: On all fours, round yourback and tuck your chin into yourchest. Pretend to be a lemur.3. Chair Pose: Stand tall in MountainPose with your feet hip-width apart,bend your knees, and keep a straightspine. Hold your hands out in front ofyou and jump like a kangaroo. Kids Yoga Stories

Child’s Pose: Sit on your heels, slowlybring your forehead down to rest onthe floor in front of your knees, restyour arms down alongside your body,and take a few deep breaths. Pretendto be a warthog.5. Cow Pose: On all fours, look up, archyour back, and open your chest. Pretendto be a hippo.6. Downward-Facing Dog Pose: Stepback to your hands and feet in an upsidedown V shape, with your buttocks up inthe air, and pretend to be a panda.7. Extended Cat Pose: Come to allfours, extend one leg out behind you,and look forward. Take the oppositearm out in front of you to counterbalance. Pretend to be a tiger. Repeaton the other side. Pretend yourarms are the long neck of a giraffe.9. Happy Baby Pose: Lie on your backwith your chin tucked in, hug yourknees into your chest, then grab theouter parts of each foot—right footin right hand and left foot in left hand.Pretend to be a sloth.10. Hero Pose: Come to rest upright onyour heels with your palms resting onyour knees. Pretend to be a peacockwith its feathers spread out.11. Pigeon Pose: From an all-foursposition, bring your right knee torest behind your right hand, anglingyour right foot slightly inward, andimagine being a sun bear. Repeat onthe other side.14. Plank Pose: From Downward-FacingDog Pose, come forward to balanceon your palms and on your bent toesin a plank position. Keep your armsstraight and your back long and flat.Pretend to be a crocodile. Seated Twist: Start by sitting crosslegged, bend your right knee, and placeyour right foot behind your left knee.Check that your spine is straight andyour right foot is flat on the ground.Twist your upper body to the right.Take your left elbow to your rightknee and your right hand back behindyou. Pretend to be a deer. Repeat onthe other side.16. Squat Pose: Come down to a squatwith your knees apart and your feetflat on the ground. Imagine being agorilla.17. Tortoise Pose: Sit on your buttockswith your knees bent and your feetflat on the floor. Then take your feetout wide and be sure you are sittingwith a tall, straight spine. Then slowly bend forwardas if your hips are a hinge, keeping aflat back and a long neck.
