I’ve had a close conne ctionwith the school for over 22 years. My 4 children attended LPPS and I’ve taught here for over 17 years. I also worked as apre-school director in Langwarrin. I’ve always been passionate about our school and am delighted to have been appointed asDeputy Principal.Schools need to be safe and happy places for students and their teachers. Student welfare is enhanced when all members of theschool community participate in the learning programs and life of the school. Essentially that is what my position entails, I ’m incharge of wellbeing.I work closely with our leadership team to manage aspects of our school and a welfare team tocoordinate the wellbeing of our students. The welfare team consists of a welfare officer, StudentSupport Officers, Positive Education coach, psychologists, speech therapists, occupationaltherapists, integration aides and staff. We meet regularly to discuss the wellbeing needs of ourstudents and actions to be taken such as assessments, referrals and applications for funding.I work together with parent groups such as our Breakfast Club and PFC to coordinate schoolevents. On a day to day basis I liase with class teachers, students and parents to addresswellbeing concerns. This happens in meetings, phone calls and emails. If a concern about yourchild is flagged to me, I will ring you and discuss it. If you have a concern about your child, please ring and make a time to talk about it with me. I know most of the students here, so theyalso feel very comfortable coming up to talk about their concerns. My door is always open.Debbie HaddowRESPECT COOPERATION CONSIDERATION CONTRIBUTION TOLERANCE
