Unless stated otherwise, Bonus Week does not requireWe appreciate all who have renewed members of Maumelle Center on the Lake to registerin advance to attend. Session 4, July 12th throughtheir memberships and whom support September 3rd will require pre-registration of eventsthe Center by participating in classes to attend. Instructors must prepare materials and reand buying meals from the Center’sserve space for each event. Events that do not reachthe required minimum number of registrants may beCafé. As of newsletter printing, 913individuals have renewed/joined for cancelled.2021. The Finance Director for the Cityreported to the City Council that ourCenter is - 20,000 YTD for budgeted,annual revenues.The City generously supports the Center and senior population inMaumelle. We need YOUR help tocontinue to support YOUR center. Beon the lookout for emails on how wecan raise the funds without nickel anddiming our members. If you know ofsomeone who has not renewed theirmembership yet, please encouragethem to do so.If the event is free, members may call (501) 851-4344and register for the class.If there is a fee for an event, members may registeronline prior to deadline of event or visit the Center toregister and pay for the event by the registrationdeadline as published in the newsletter. All events areavailable on a first come, first served basis for members to register.When an event reaches maximum capacity, a waitlist will be available for members to register for theevent. Staff will follow the order of the wait list, ifspace in a closed event becomes available.Late registration is registering for an event on or after the first day of the session. Late fees are not beingcollected in 2021.REFUNDSPlease note all events listed are memberevents. Individuals 50 may purchase a daypass to try out a class.2 The SpotlightPlans for events occur 2-3 months in advance and areoften paid in advance. The cost of a trip is based on thenumber of members attending. Instructors preparematerials and handouts based on the number registered. Therefore, the Center will refund registrationfees only if the Center cancels the event. A membermay request a refund of events provided proof of hospitalization. Refunds are authorized by the Director ofSenior Services and will be credited to the member’saccount within 5 business days.

NEWS FROM NICOLE.We are SO EXCITED to have so many of our members and friends returning!!COVID-19 Recovery efforts continue at Maumelle Center on the Lake. The Center staffand volunteers are following all CDC and local government protocols to keep our members and guests as safe as possible. Staff and volunteers continue to wipe down and sanitize high traffic areas. The Center is now fully open to the public. We continue to offercurbside, to-go and virtual classes to our members. I see these services continuing in thefuture.Volunteer of the Month has returned to the Center. Please check out page 5 of thenewsletter to see who has been named July and August Volunteer of the Month. We appreciate our volunteers and could not begin to deliver the level of service without our volunteers! Do you havea couple of hours that you would like to share? Call Kim or stop by the Front Desk to find out current opportunities that are available.My plea for help .Please help us, help you! Whennot volunteering with us Tami enjoys fishing, playing with her dogTucker and hanging out with the ones she loves. She is also an active participant with MFOA and the Maumelle Animal Shelter.We’re thankful for your willingness to help us. Thank you!Hello friends!Summer is here. The big questions are; where are you traveling to, what are you going to seeand most importantly who are you making memories with? It has been a while since we’vetraveled so it was fun to take my mother in law on a road trip recently to NOLA. We had somuch fun, made some great memories and ate some amazing food. I’m hopeful that you willget an opportunity to travel and spend some time with the ones you love the most.It fills my heart to see all these smiling faces as everyone’s coming back. Hope that we continue to grow our base of volunteers. On that note, if you know of anyone who’s looking to volunteer send them my way.KimThe August Volunteer of the Month isNorm Milner!The August volunteer of the month is Norm Milner. Norm is married to Rosella, has a son named David, two daughters Joanne andTeresa and a handsome grandbaby named Sebastian. Norm servedin the Air Force as a jet engine mechanic and worked with NSA.He loves to read. He also is fluent in Italian being that his wife isfrom Italy. Norm has been a member for several years and as ofrecent he taken on the task of teaching members how to use cardio and weight equipment at the Center. Norm is a great rolemodel for fitness as he is faithful and consistent to working out!Thank you Norm for what you do to make us healthier.5 The Spotlight
