PLEASE REMEMBERPAYMENT If you have not yet made your 50% payment to Navitas atFAU, you will not be able to register for classes. Methods of Payment to Navitas USA Boca Raton LLC areavailable online here https://www.fau.navitas.com/paymentoptions: Bank Wire Transfer (use wire instructions provided online,normally includes a fee) Western Union Business Solutions’ GlobalPay (providesthe best international exchange rate if paying from a non-U.S.bank account) Credit and Debit Cards (best option if you have a U.S. bankaccount, direct money transfer so there’s no extra fee)

ACADEMICSIntellectual Foundations ProgramRequirements Continued IFP Course Breakdown The 36-40 credits of required IFP courses are broken down into 6categories, as shown in the previous slide and pie chart. You arerequired to take a minimum of 2 classes in each IFP category.Generally each class is worth 3 credits, unless noted otherwise. Thatmeans, in total, all FAU students must take 12 IFP courses.IFP Timeline IFP courses must be completed during freshman (year 1) andsophomore (year 2) year at FAU.Navitas students have a total of 5 semesters (year 1 3 semesters andyear 2 2 semesters) to complete their IFP course requirements.

PORTAL REGISTRATIONCHOOSING CLASSESRefer to the Student Handbook (available under the Student tab, in theDocument section of the Navitas Portal) and previous slides within thispresentation for all available classes. Be sure to check for pre-requisites.Not every class listed in the Handbook will be offered Spring 2016.Choose 4 classes:1. Register for UNI 101 University Learning Skills – ALL Navitas students musttake this course in their first semester2. *Register for an English and/or College Writing class - Depending on yourhigh school GPA and English ability, you will need to register for 1 of the following3 course options: AEC 100 Academic English Communications and AERW 100 AcademicEnglish Reading & Writing (must be taken in the same semester, select both forcourse registration) CWP 100 College Writing Preparation (select if you have an IELTS score of 5.5,TOEFL iBT of 59, or PVT of 50) ENC 1101 College Writing I (select if you have an IELTS score of 6.0, TOEFL iBT of71, or PVT of 56)*Please note: A writing assessment will be done during the first day oforientation to determine if you’ve been placed in the correct English course.

CHOOSING CLASSES CONTINUED Certain majors require specific IFP courses which determineswhat you can and cannot select as your 4th academic course: Engineering and Biology majors should not registerfor ESC 2070 Blue Planet or BSC 1005 Life Science BSC1005L Life Science lab Business majors should not register for PSY1012 Introto Psychology or ANT 2000 Intro to Anthropology All other majors are able to select whichever classfits into their schedule after choosing UNI 101, anEnglish class, and a math class

Reference page 17 again for theEnglish course criteria.Print a copy, take a screen shot, and/or take a pictureof your schedule.It is your responsibility to knowwhen your classes are.

PLEASE REMEMBERCHECK-IN AND ORIENTATION DATES Navitas Check-In Day is Wednesday, January 6from 9:00am until 8:00pm on-campus near theNavitas office, Student Services Hallway, room225. You will pickup orientation informationand complete FAU’s mandatory immigrationcheck-in during this time frame. Mandatory Orientation begins onThursday, January 7 at 8:00am and endson Saturday, January 9 at 12:00pm Spring 2016 courses begin Monday, January 11and end on Wednesday, May 4
