Final responsibility for verifying all transfer information lies with the student.TRANSFER OPTIONSComplete AA or AS* DegreeStudents planning on transferring to DePaul University who complete the AA or AS* degree can benefit from the IllinoisArticulation Initiative (IAI). By completing Harper’s 1998 or later AA or AS* degree with a 2.0 GPA in Groups 1-5, DePaul’sgeneral education requirements will be considered met.Individual majors may have additional prerequisites and/or requirements that are not covered by this agreement. In addition,DePaul has specific mission-related courses that are not covered by this agreement.Transfer without completing AA or AS* DegreeStudents who choose to transfer prior to completing an AA or AS* degree can still benefit from Illinois Articulation Initiative(IAI) by completing Groups 1-5 of the AA or AS* with a cumulative 2.0 GPA. This completes the General Education CoreCurriculum (GECC) which will meet DePaul’s general education requirements. Individual majors may have additionalprerequisites and/or requirements that are not covered by this agreement. In addition, DePaul has specific mission-relatedcourses that are not covered by this agreement.Students who do not complete the AA or AS* or the GECC will need to meet DePaul’s general education requirements. Seethe transfer grid on page 4 of this guide.* On September 18, 2015 the Illinois Community College Board approved the changes to the AS degree. The changes areeffective beginning with the 2016-2017 academic year. The new AS model requires fewer humanities and fine arts andsocial and behavioral sciences and requires additional mathematics and science. Effective the 2016/2017 catalog the AS willno longer include the IAI GECC package. Students who complete the AS degree will need to take the additional humanitiesand fine arts and social behavior science at DePaul.ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR TRANSFER STUDENTSTransfer applicant must be in good standing at the last college attended. For admission consideration, the College of LiberalArts & Social Sciences, the College of Communication, the College of Computing & Digital Cinema and the School of Theaterrequire a 2.0 GPA based on transferable courses.For admission consideration, the Driehaus College of Business, the College of Education and the School of Music require a2.5 GPA.Transfer applicants (under 24 years old) with fewer than 30 transferable semester hours should be qualified to meetfreshman admission standards.TRANSFER GUIDES **IMPORTANT INFORMATION**The transfer course grids found on the last 5 pages of this guide are only a sample of the general education courses thattransfer to DePaul and fulfill DePaul’s general education requirements.

Up to 66 semester hours of transfer credit from two year schoolsis usable towards a DePaul degree (including CLEP, International Baccalaureate, and/or AP credits).The last 60 quarter hours of a DePaul degree must be earned in residency at the university and at least half of the major fieldcoursework must be DePaul University credit.Grades of "D" are usable towards some degree requirements. Housing Priority Date: Gain acceptance to the university before March 1st.CALCULATION OF ADMISSION GRADE POINT AVERAGEIn computing GPA, only courses comparable to those offered at DePaul are included. Only the most recent attempt of arepeated course is considered. After one term an incomplete grade is computed as a failure.TRANSFER SCHOLARSHIPSStudents enrolling in the Fall, Winter or Spring quarters, will automatically be considered for academic scholarships of up to 15,000 annually when completing their application.
