Severalpatients came to the open house before the PatientCare Conference on August 6th. We have hadseveral others visit for follow-up as well. The newclinic has allowed us to centralize everything underone roof. The clinic will house Dr. Kirk, ClinicProviders, Exercise Specialist, Dietitians, Surgeons,Pulmonology and the Bariatric Navigators. TheCardiology consults will remain across the hall atOklahoma Heart. The only visit away from theBailey Medical Center campus is the Psychologistand this is by program design. We celebrated ourpatients by using their success stories as our officedécor. We are challenging our Facebook followers and Bailey Bariatric staff to 1000minutes of exercise in September! This is a voluntary challenge and everyperson needs to listen to their body and understand their own limitations. Thechallenge is from September 1st through September 30. Post your workoutson the Facebook event page. This is NOT a contest. This is a personalchallenge for each person who would like to participate. Exercise is physicalactivity such as, Zumba, running, basketball, kicking the soccer ball in the frontyard with your kids, pushing a stroller for a walk, stretching, swimming at thelake and other forms of exercise.Example Post: “Just did 30 minutes of water aerobics. I have done 420minutes this month!” Are you up for the challenge? We will not post rankings ortrack your personal minutes. Employee SpotlightDr. Jenny Wood, Ph. DJenny Sheader Wood, Ph.D., Licensed Psychologist,Health Services Psychologist is a native ofHartlepool, England. Dr. Wood immigrated toStillwater, Oklahoma in 1987. She is a three timegraduate of Oklahoma State University with aBachelor’s degree in Psychology, a Master’s degreein Counseling, and a Doctoral degree in CounselingPsychology. Dr. Wood completed a pre-doctoralinternship at Texas Woman’s University in Denton,Texas in 2005.Dr. Wood is a Licensed Health services Psychologist in the state ofOklahoma. She has provided outpatient psychological services in a variety ofsettings and is trained to work with a number of issues and concerns. Specialinterests include: eating disorders, optimizing human potential, psychologicalhealth and wellness, and women’s issues. Dr. Wood moved to Owasso in 2006and began private practice and collaborations with the Bariatric Team at BaileyMedical Center.
