The Board met for the first time in May and their key discussion points included: Election of officers. The Board elected the following officers to serve as Ministry Board officers and officers for the corporation:Chair: Randy BryantVice Chair: Danny ReynoldsSecretary: Rick McCollumTreasurer: Karen Bryant General fund balance. Thankfully our general fund has a higher balance than in many, many years. However, our current general fund generates very minimal interest, so the Board elected to transfer 150,000 into the Building fund account which provides an increased interest rate, and still allows us flexibility to access the funds if needed. Overview of the Ministry Board’s role and function. The Board took time to review and discuss our new governancestructure. Pastor Jonathan distributed the book “Sticky Teams” by Larry Osbourne as a help and resource to theBoard. The focus of the book is “to show what it takes to get (and keep) a board, staff, and congregation on the samepage, sticking together as a unified, healthy, and dynamic ministry team.” The Board will be reading and reflecting onOsborne’s ideas and recommendations in the coming months. Church Consultant. Last fall our previous Church Council identified the possible need of bringing in a Church consultantto help foster greater growth and health within our ministry. The Board is beginning the process of exploring this option interms of persons who can provide this help and what the cost investment would be. Future “20 Somethings” ministry. The Board briefly discussed the need to address this important ministry within thecongregation. The Board agreed to continue the discussion and pray about how to best support this ministry endeavor.2015 GRADUATESHigh School Graduates:Blake Ashley - Twin Valley SouthLindsay Creech - Twin Valley SouthAndrew Gevedon - Hagerstown High SchoolCharis Grubbs - Twin Valley SouthJustin Halstead - EatonTyler Holderman - EatonGunter Lautensleger - Twin Valley SouthIsaiah Mirovsky - EatonAndy Newport - EatonJake Osborn - Twin Valley SouthJenson Reece - EatonRhianna Trader - EatonJohn Utsinger, Twin Valley SouthOpen Houses: Lindsay Creech - Saturday, June 6 from 5-8p at 4962 Bantas Creek Rd.,West Alexandria.
