DOE--FIU Cooperative AgreementDOE DOE‐DOE‐FIU program established in 1995 as a partnership between FloridaInternational University and DOE’sDOE s Office of Science & Technology (EM‐(EM‐50) Since 1995 the Center has executed over 300 applied research projects for DOE inthe areas of: DDeactivationi i &DDecommissioningi i i (D&D)Soil & Groundwater Research & ModelingWaste Processing/High Level WasteInformation Technologygy Developmentpfor Environmental ManagementgWorkforce Development & Training The Center counts with five research facilities, a radiological lab, a high bay facility,and a Large Scale Technology Test Site The Center collaborate with other FIU’s Centers & laboratories (Chemistry, SERC,AMERI) to accomplish DOE‐DOE‐EM applied researchengineers), FIU faculty The Center supports 18 full time researcher (scientists and engineers),and about 30 students per year being trained in DOE‐DOE‐EM research (DOE FellowsWorkforce InitiativeInitiative))Advancing the research and academic mission of Florida International University.
