Bachelor of Science in Digital Filmmaking & Video Production will be noted with anasterisk (*) on page 8 of the current catalog and the note “No longer accepting newenrollments” will be added to page 13 of the current catalog.Policy UpdateThe following completely replaces The Art Institutes Grading Policy on page 190 of the currentcatalog.THE ART INSTITUTES GRADING POLICYRepeating courses.If otherwise eligible, students may retake coursework for one of the following reasons:Failed the Course: Students who have failed the course and earned no credit hours.Withdrawn Course: Students who withdraw from a course will receive either a Withdrawalwithout penalty (W), Withdrawal with penalty (WF), or Unearned F (UF), Failing grade (F). Please refer tothe grading section of the Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy for information when a W, WF, UF, Fgrade will be granted.Stale Course: By State or Accreditation requirements a student must pass a course within aspecific window of time. For example, the course must be passed within the last 5 years and the coursewas taken 7 years ago so it must be repeated.Meet Progress or Professional Requirements: Students who have successfully completed thecourse and earned credit hours but are required to improve their grade point average (G.P.A.). Forstandard term-based programs, DCEH policy, as required by Department of Education regulation, willallow financial aid to cover a single repetition of a previously successfully passed course if the course isrequired as part of an academic plan to appeal a Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) termination or tohelp students who need a specific grade or G.P.A. to practice upon graduation or progress in theprogram, per the academic catalog or course requirements published and provided to students. Forexample, the student passed the course but the grade received is not sufficient for progression. The Art Institute of Las Vegas: Addendumprograms at the mid-term start date, taking remedial courses, taking time off from coursework, registering for fewer hours orunsuccessful attempts at course completion will increase the total length of the program and overall cost of education from what isdisclosed. Transfer credits awarded toward your program will likely decrease the overall length and cost of education.1Lab fees above represent the total for timely, successful completion of the program and are charged per credithour. Retaking courses will increase the lab fee charge.Not all courses include a Digital Textbook. Courses that include a Digital Textbook will be noted in the registrationmaterial and the Digital Textbook will be charged in addition to tuition unless the student chooses to opt out.Students who do not opt out will not need to purchase textbooks for courses using a Digital Textbook. The purchaseof the Digital Textbook is not refundable. Students who do opt out will be responsible for purchasing the requiredtextbook.
